In consideration for the publication in the New Zealand Journal of Applied Business Research (the Journal), I hereby assign to Manukau Institute of Technology copyright in the Contribution and in any abstract prepared by me to accompany the Contribution for the full legal term of copyright and any renewals thereof throughout the world in all formats, and through any medium of communication.

Conditions of publication:

I warrant to the Manukau Institute of Technology that the Contribution is my original work, has not been published before, that I have obtained and enclose all necessary permissions for the reproduction as part of the Contribution of copyright works (including artistic works, e.g. illustrations, photographs, charts, maps, other visual material, etc.) not owned by me, that the Contribution contains no unlawful statements and does not infringe any rights of others, and agree to indemnify the New Zealand Journal of Applied Business Research and the Manukau Institute of Technology against any claims in respect to the above warranties. I agree that the attached “Conditions of Publication for Copyright Owner” form part of this Publishing Agreement.

Conditions of Publication for Copyright Owner

  1. It is the Journal’s policy to acquire copyright on all contributions in order to:
  2. maximise protection against infringement of copyright protected material through breach of copyright or piracy anywhere in the world; and
  3. ensure requests by third parties to reprint or reproduce a contribution, or part of it in any format, are handled efficiently in accordance with the Journal’s general policy which encourages dissemination of knowledge within the framework of copyright.
  1. In return for yourassigning copyright, we undertake to publish your contribution to the Journal in a timely and professional manner and license you the following rights:
  2. permission for you to publish the whole or any part of your contribution in a printed work written, edited or compiled by you, provided this re-productionfollows first publication in the Journal and the usual acknowledgments are given regarding copyright notice and reference to first publication by the Journal;
  3. permission for you to make copies of your article for yourown teaching needs, or to supply on an individual basis to other persons for their research purposes;
  4. permission for you to make available the whole or any part of your contribution electronically on a secure network at your institution (i.e. one for which access is limited to members of the institution and physical visitors to the institution’s site or sites only), provided the usual acknowledgements are given regarding copyright notice and reference to first publication by the Journal;
  5. permission for you to electronically post the abstract and up to 100% of the pre-publication version (the version of your paper as accepted for publication) of your contribution on the World Wide Web, provided the usual acknowledgments are given regarding copyright notice and reference to first publication by the Journal*, and provided this is not through a third party commercial provider, as all such requests for use of material from the Journal should be forwarded to the Journal.
  1. (a) You will be informed, wherever practicable to your last known address, of all requests to which the Journal has agreed, to reproduce your contribution, or a substantial part of it, in any other print-on-paper publication, or an electronic product such as a CD-Rom, where your contribution is specifically requested, rather than as part of the Journal as a whole, subject to 3(b) below. Please keep our mailing list up to date with changes to yourinstitutional or business address to facilitate this.

(b) The Journal may make the necessary arrangements, whether through themselves or through their agents, to place your contribution in electronic storage so that it may be transmitted to meet legitimate requests for access including transmission in a document delivery service, and also the right to mandate reprographic rights organisations (RROs).

(c) The Journal may be made available in both print and electronic formats.

  1. You shall, at yourown expense, obtain from the copyright owner or owners written permission (which you shall submit with this Publishing Agreement) to include and reproduce within the Contribution any part of the typescript or illustrative material the copyright of which is not your own.

* Contributors must include the following acknowledgment when posting the pre-publication version of the contribution on the World Wide Web:
