Volleyball/Field Day Schedule for May 27th
Volleyball Game / 8:00-9:30 / This year’s field day will be held during the students regular PE schedule except for K & 4th. Please follow the schedule to the left. Teachers you have the option to use your conference time or enjoy the activities outside with your students during their PE time. I hope to see many of you out there enjoying the activities with them...if you choose to stay inside we will enjoy the activities with them. Either way it is a win-win. :) Thanks for all you do!

Objective: Students and Teachers(?) have a great time.

Activities:

Hula Hoop and Jump Rope Station.

Have students use equipment appropriately and have hula and jump (one at a time please ;).

FrisbeeToss.

Try and land a Frisbee on the parachute. Take turns throwing Frisbees then after all students

have thrown send them to retrieve the Frisbees and begin again.

Bean Bag Toss

Have students try and toss a bean bag into the nets while standing a the cones. Once all

students have thrown the bean bags have them retrieve them and the next group of students

toss the bean bags. Repeat

Parachute activity

Switch Colors: Have students set around parachute. Have students identify the color they are

sitting in front of and proceed to hold the parachute with an overhand grip. Parachute. Ex

Green changes places with someone from another green section (traveling underneath the

parachute-safely please).

Popcorn: Say popcorn and have students

demonstrate what that means and have parents join in. If time permits have students change

colors going under the parachute while all students raise parachute above their heads.

Launch a ball. Have students place a ball on the parachute have students raise their hands

while holding the parachute and on your command lower the parachute as quickly as possible in

order to launch the ball.

Skooter Race

Have students take turns pushing sitting student on the skooter while weaving in and out of the

cones and back. Play a race or just take turns-you choose.

Tug-a-war

Quickly create two even teams on either side of the red mat. Have students grasp the

rope and pull on your command. Begin the war.

Sack Race

Quickly create teams. Have students move across the area to the finishing line while in

the sack. This can be accomplished independently, then three legged race style. Whatever time

allows

Jumbo Cup stacking (partner)

Quickly create teams. Students will put on strap on inner legs and work together to move

across the area and each use. Using one hand each to lift and stack a jumbo cup to create a

pyramid. First team to create the pyramid wins.

Dragon Tail Station

Students are dragons who go collecting tails from other dragons. Students place tail (scarf) in

their pocket while skipping around designated area. Students snatch tails from other dragons

while they travel. Stop game and after a few minutes and return all tails to dragons and begin

again this time speed waling.

Rotation: A signal will be provided (chime) for groups to rotate to a new activity.

Stations: Be readyexplain quickly and have FUN! Be safe.

Don’t focus too much on the win factor focus more on the fun factor. Enjoy!
