Parent Advisory Group
Meeting Minutes
December 14, 2016
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
I. Welcome and Introductions of Members: Carol Butze, Leah Sylvester, Charlene Cabral
II. Google Group sign-up: requires every member to have a google account. It was decided to use evite as a discussion forum. It was decided to have three different evites 1) raffle fundraising, 2) luncheon 3) yard sale
III. BCBA presentation update (Date/Time?): The group thought that the evening (6/6:30) would be best the time for most parents. The group thought it was best to keep it separate from the parent workshop. At the parent workshop, a student activity will be provided during event.
IV. Parent Rights and Responsibilities presentation update: waiting to hear back from possible contacts
V. Coffee hour- what would like to ask Dr. Chris Scott: Some questions were proposed: What is your vision for Valley? Are looking for more member districts? Are we expanding? Future pains? Is there funding or a budget for after school programming? Please email with further questions.
VI. Fundraising letter and goals: It has decided to look into raising funds for an indoor basketball hoop and Valley swag as a staff appreciation gift. Fundraising ideas were discussed.
VII. Staff Appreciation Luncheon-Tuesday May 2nd:
VIII. Working session for PAG initiatives
a. Fundraising : It was discussed to create a calendar raffle and sell tickets for the month of February. PAG members will look for donations to raffle off. Please don’t forget to pass out fundraising letter. In addition, it was discussed to have the yard sale at the end of May/beginning of June on Friday and possibly the weekend. A memo will be sent to parents and staff to save items. Please contact if you would like to participate. Another idea came to talk to our Art teacher about the square one program. Items can be ordered with student’s artwork and part of the proceeds will be for PAG.
