Minutes Approval

May minutes were approved as circulated

Treasurer Report

May treasurer's report approved as circulated. We had more expenditures than income last month. The Expo Center found our deposit check for next years Beevent. Ranee requested an increase of $350 to the Garden Tour budget. This would cover the cost of the wire stands needed for the Garden Tour signs. These stands can be reused. The request was approved. Connie noted we are over budget for the year but have ample funds in reserve. No one has applied for scholarships for the International Festival, so those funds will stay in our budget.

June Spotlight

Ranee will contact Sharon Richards for information about her participation in LCMG. Pami has a photo available.

Extension Report

Pami has been advertising the Garden Tour on social media.

The next Demo Garden lecture will be on irrigation and water conservation. The City of Albany has provided water conservation kits in the past and Pami hopes to get some for this lecture. There was discussion on an all-day workshop on sustainable landscaping. The plant ID walk is Thursday.

The deadline for articles for the next Growing is Monday, June 12.

OSU has hired an outreach person for the bee program. This person will work mainly with Master Bee Keepers.

Pami has been doing lots of work for the International Conference. She will be driving a van to tour local sights.

Habitat for Humanity has contacted us about advice on landscaping the homes they build. We agreed we would like to help.

The Master Food Preservers is planning a workshop in Brownsville.

OMGA Report

Janice Gregg attended the spring meeting on June 3, 2017. 1238 folks are registered for the International Conference. Registration is now closed. OMGA is looking for volunteers to review grant requests. They also encourage article submissions for the Gardener's Pen newsletter.

The next Mini College will be at Linfield College, July 12-14, 2018.

It was suggested we send a thank you note for the PNW's that were supplied to us by OMGA.

Although registration is closed for the International Conference it is still possible to get into the vendor area if you are willing to man a booth. Delivery info regarding the decorated bike will be forth coming. Karin said the decorations are coming along well. OMGA solicited people to run for office. However it is not clear if potential officers need to currently hold board positions. The President of OMGA would like to know the date and time for our annual graduation/awards ceremony. Since there will be no Mini College this year they would like to present awards at the time. Pami is considering holding the event at the Children's Farm Home. The lunch would be a catered event costing around $10 per person.

Garden Tour

Karin has been posting the event on social media. Betty has the volunteers signed up. All is going well. Karin and Ranee will be at Tom's on the day of the event selling tickets. Karin has arranged an article to be in the Democrat Herald.

Demo Garden

Dave reported that all the beds are planted and look good. The waterline for the "kitchen" is almost done the "kitchen" is nearly completed. He has set the foundation for the addition to the shed.

Farmers Market

Pam Nelson reported that the volunteers are working well. The table has been moved to a new location so WIFI should now be available. It was decided that volunteers who have a shift at the Farmers Market the day of the Garden Tour may attend the Pre-Tour if they wish at no charge.
