Provide strategic and operational leadership for units and programs within the Institute for Student Success (ISS) in Undergraduate Education and Instruction (UE&I). The ISS currently includes the Academic Center for Exploratory Student (ACES), First Year Programs & Learning Communities (FYP & LC), and the Center for Academic Programs (CAP). Oversee the delivery of services to facilitate the transition from secondary school to college,illuminate the underlying processes of a research extensive university, and ensure a high quality undergraduate educational experience by providing a cohesive, supportive environment for students.Manage the Institute’s budget by leading fund raising efforts, researching potential funding sources, submitting grant applications, and working collaboratively with the Office for Sponsored Programs to ensure compliance as outlined by grantees. Work with the schools and colleges to create a seamless advising environment for undergraduates. Collaborate with deans and faculty regarding curriculum related matters. Lead the efforts to promote access and educational opportunities for low income, first generation, and other underrepresented populations at the University. Through partnerships with schools and colleges, assist in building access to the various disciplines and departments for ISS students. Promote high impact educational experiences that focus on experiential learning, diversity, and global citizenship.

Serve as a consultant to other departments/units on matters related to educational opportunity and access to higher education issues on campus, particularly dealing with first generation and low income populations. Responsible for the coordination of professional development opportunities for the staff.

Responsible for the planning, administration and evaluation of the Student Support Services program for over 800 students. Provided and administeredservices during the academic year and the summer program. Managed budgets, hired, supervised and evaluated staffof 5 to 7 counselors, collected and analyzed data, evaluated services, and wrote reports. Hired and supervised 50-60 temporary staff and faculty in the summer pre-collegiate program. Instructed students on successful learning, and designed and implemented retention strategies. Worked collaboratively with all divisions atthe University, including the financial aid office and academic departments. Provided counseling for program participants. Responsible for the writing and coordination of all activities related to the submission of federal and state grant proposals. Secured grant of 700K to provide services to eligible participants for four years.
