Arran Pilot1St EarlyTrials have found good resistance to common scab. This variety has low resistance to dry rot, late blight on foliage, late blight on tubers and potato virus.
Rocket1st EarlyProduces extremely early yield of firm, waxy texture tubers. Big tubers if left. Our favorite first early.
Red Duke of York1St EarlyRed skinned heritage variety which has become very popular at Whitemoor in recent years. Produces large tubers good for roasting. Excellently flavoured floury potato though it needs careful boiling.
Swift1St EarlyVery early variety. Short foliage makes it a good variety for growing under plastic or in pots. Good disease resistance. Produces large tubers if left.
Ulster Prince1St EarlyWaxy potato; mild flavour. This variety has low resistance to late blight on foliage and late blight on tubers but never-the-less is very popular at Whitemoor.
Marfona2nd EarlyProduces large bakers. Very popular early baker for numerous supermarket outlets.
Kestrel2nd EarlyKestrel gives good yields of very attractive, long oval, parti-coloured tubers which have good all round cooking quality but especially good for chips due to low fat absorption.
Charlotte2nd EarlyLong yellow tubers. Stores well. High yielding, good tuber blight resistance Waxy salad potato. Does really well in Whitemoor soils.
Nicola2nd EarlySecond early maturity, high number of uniform tubers per plant, medium to long dormancy. Good resistance to common scab, potato leaf roll virus and bruising.
DesireeEarly MainPink skin, yellow flesh and a great flavour. Excellent roasted, boiled or baked. The most popular Whitemoor potato.
PicassoEarly MainOval white tubers with pink eyes and cream to light yellow flesh. Good resistance to common scab. Susceptible to powdery scab and spraing.
CaraLate MainAttractive white tubers with red eyes. Stores well. Good disease resistance. Mild flavoured creamy flesh, good baked or roasted. Another Whitemoor favourite.
Pink Fir AppleLate MainVery knobbly pink skinned long tubers, yellow flesh. Delicious flavour hot or cold, with waxy firm texture making it so good in salads. Worth trying.
ValorLate MainVery late, vigorous grower that gives a good yield. Excellent disease resistance waxy potato with a mild flavour. Another good all rounder.
