JOB DESCRIPTION
PURPOSE OF JOB
The Programme Coordinator for Balloon Ventures will work with the Balloon Venture Programme Manager to ensure that the six-week programme will run according to schedule through (1) management of 20 UK volunteers and 28 local entrepreneurs, (2) providing assistance on logistics and administrative matters during set-up phase and programme proper and (3) monitoring and evaluation for the programme.
The post-holder will become part of the British Council Philippines Society Programmes Team.

Balloon Ventures is a UK social enterprise that matches business experts from the UK with entrepreneurs from developing countries to lead sustainable economic development.
Balloon Ventures, in partnership with the British Council, will be holding a six-week mentorship on entrepreneurship in Baguio from July to August with focus on uncovering new business opportunities. There will be 20 UK volunteers who will collaborate with 28 local entrepreneurs to come up with and pilot sustainable enterprises. A small seed fund will be awarded to the communities to help sustain their enterprises.
ACCOUNTABILITIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAIN DUTIES
TheProgramme Coordinatoris responsibleforthe successful co-delivery of the Balloon Ventures programme. S/he is expected to report on the progress of the programme on a weekly basis.
The Programme Coordinator’smain duties include:
Logistical and Administrative Support (60%)
- Providing support to the Balloon Ventures Programme Manager in the delivery of the programme
- Being the focal person for all on-the-ground concerns of local entrepreneurs, UK volunteers and Balloon Ventures staff
- Arranging logistics for parties who will be involved in the programme
- Overseeing local entrepreneurs to ensure attendance and commitment throughout the programme
- Escalating important and urgent concerns to Social EnterpriseManager
- Ensuring effective implementation of Balloon Ventures safety and security policies, for example completing risk assessments, managing risk mitigation strategies and responding to safety and security incidents
- Engaging media in the duration of the programme
- Participating in storyboarding for video coverage of the event
- Creating communications and press releases about the programme (as needed)
- Creating and implementing an monitoring and evaluation mechanism for the Balloon Ventures entrepreneurs (during and after programme)
- Creating and implementing a grant management mechanism for winners of Balloon Ventures grant fund
