Mission Statement
The primary mission of Mai-Trix Beauty College is to provide each student with the marketable knowledge and skills necessary to seek an entry-level position of employment in the beauty industry once their course of study is completed. The goal of each employee is to ensure that all students are receiving the necessary education by following the standard curriculum along with practical “hands-on” experience. This will allow students to successfully familiarize themselves with the essential practice, knowledge and skills needed to represent the portrait of a student in training. Courses of study at Mai-Trix Beauty College will prepare students for state licensure and employment in the industry of cosmetology.
Philosophy
Mai-Trix Beauty College maintains the philosophy that our students are here for the purposeof career training and education. Our only true purpose is to educate and better prepare students for employment in this dynamic industry of cosmetology. Every individual is a potential asset to their respective field of study within cosmetology arts and sciences and will be trained with integrity; and treated fairly regardless of color, race, creed or religion.

About Our School
Mai-Trix Beauty College, located at 13159-B Northwest FRWY, Houston, Texas 77040, was founded by an expert team of cosmetologists who have substantial international expertise and have experienced the most upscale techniques in the global beauty industry.

Mai-Trix Beauty College, occupies approximately 5,000 square feet of space. It is divided into classrooms, lab areas, breaks room, dispensary, and administrative offices and is handicap accessible. Student activities are overseen and supervised by licensed instructors.Students have their choice of attending day or evening classes. The structure of our curriculum includes schedules available that can be tailored to accommodate either full or part time students. The school institutes a teaching ratio of one instructor per 25 students.

Governing Body
The legal operational authority of Asia Business Consultants is set forth in the Corporate Charter and By-laws since 1993. Lynn Marie Tran-Minh (President) serves as the governing board of Asia Business Consultants (ABC Inc.). ABC is doing business as (DBA) Mai-Trix Beauty College and is a wholly owned subsidiary of ABC.
President/CEO
The President/CEO has the legal responsibility for the institution which includes but is not limited to daily operations, securing of resources for support, appointing the Director, and assume legal responsibility for the school.
Executive Director
The Director must possess either degree or certification from a post-secondary institution of higher learning, sufficient experience necessary in the scope of the position, or must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the respective position. Duties of the Director include but are not limited to the supervision and coordination of day-to-day operations of the school, delegate’s tasks to employees, supervises the proper application of procedures and policies, coordinates activities among functional departments, and ensures compliance with our state and national regulatory agencies.
Admissions Officers:
Admission Officers shall possess a high school diploma or its equivalent and must demonstrate competency in the area of admissions. The duties of the admissions staff include; recruiting, interviewing, and enrolling prospective students in a program of study at the school. Staff members are also responsible for providing the student with course content, admissions requirements, completion of enrollment documents, tracking enrollment data, delivery of records to the administrative office for record keeping.
International Student Advisor
International Student Advisor shall possess a high school diploma or its equivalent and must demonstrate competency in the area of student advisement. Duties of this position include but are not limited to the advisement of international students, processing required documentation, submitting required data, and overseeing all aspects of matriculating international students.
Financial Aid Director
The Financial Aid Director must have a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent and demonstrate competency in completing financial aid functions. The duties of a financial Aid Director include providing assistance in completing and processing financial aid documents including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), counseling students on loans, grants, payment options, and processing student aid reports and award letters.
Financial Aid Director is responsible for the following (includes but not limited to):
- Interview the students and explain the financial aid programs available to them
- Assist in the preparation of the Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA)
- Compute student budgets (Cost Of Attendance)
- Reviews the accuracy and reasonableness of the student’s responses to questions on the FAFSA,
- Assists in submitting the FAFSA electronically
- Perform follow-up functions with regard to the application process
- Initiate the termination calculation for graduates and drops
- Interview and train financial aid staff
- Verification of student data
- Financial Aid counseling
- Prepare/deliver award letters
- Award Approvals
- Coordinate Federal Student Aid audits
Activities involved in award approvals:
- Review eligibility for all Federal Aid programs
- Calculate the Return to Title IV funds
- Maintain Federal Loan logs
- Follow-up for all second and subsequent financial aid disbursements
- Accurate & complete record keeping
- Submit government agency reports , submit documents to 3rd party servicer for processing
Activities involved in approval of disbursements:
- Review of Loans/Grants for disbursement purposes
- Facilitate Student/parent authorizations (credit balances)
- Verifying eligibility at the time of disbursement
- Review and approve award disbursements
- Post credit to student account
The Financial Aid Director does not at any time disburse financial aid funds received.
Separation of Duties: The school separates the functions of authorizing payment and the delivery of funds so that no one person or office exercises both functions for any student receiving Title IV funds.
Director of Education
The Director must possess either degree or certification from a post-secondary institution of higher learning, sufficient experience necessary in the scope of the position, or must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the respective position. Duties of the Director include but are not limited to the supervision and coordination of instructional operations of the school, delegate’s tasks to instructors, supervises the proper application of procedures and policies,and ensures compliance within the instructional department.
Instructors
Instructional staff must hold a valid instructor’s license for the respective program taught. The duties of the instructional staff include functions relating to providing instruction and education. These areas includes but are not limited to: facilitating lecture/theory, demonstration of techniques, posting daily assignments/curriculum, posting grades, assisting students with customers, collecting fees from customers, lesson plans, progress reports, submitting complete academic packets for students who are exiting the program, supervising student progress, grading, tutoring, and state board preparation.
General Information
The student is given a complete tour of facilities and will receive a school catalog, in a one on one time with staff members to answer any questions or expectations about their chosen curriculum. The student is provided with information which contains but is not limited to; a copy of the school’s mission statement, a list of school officers and staff, a schedule of tuition and fees with payment options and late fee guidelines. Also included is a list of books and supplies needed, school calendar, rules and regulations, admission and academic polices, Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements, student services guidelines and a complete curriculum for their course of study. The student is also provided with information regarding completion rates of students from school, pass/fail rates, compensation of a successful graduate may reasonably expect, safety requirements for the profession, and licensure requirements. Finally, the student is informed of school expectations and the school extends the offer to be available at any time during their coursework to help with any questions or concerns that may arise. The student then begins their curriculum under the guidance of a certified school instructor.
Admission Requirements
Mai-trix Beauty College offers Cosmetology, Esthetic and Instructor Training, with an open enrollment of each course.
In order to maintain our academic standards at the highest level, Mai-Trix Beauty College (as regulated by the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation) admits regular students based on the following requirements:
- 17 year of age or older
.Social Security card
- High school graduate or G.E.D. or State Issued Credentials for Home School
- $200.00 Registration Fee payable to the College (non-refundable)
- Valid Identification driver license or State ID
(Identifications from foreign countries are accepted by TDLR; however they must accompany a valid passport from that country for licensure and state examination.)
- Must not currently enrolled in any other school of cosmetology
- $25 for the issuance of a TDLR Student Permit& Law Book (non-refundable)
Mai-Trix Beauty College does not recruit students who have admitted to another school offering a similar program.
All admission requirements must be met prior to enrollment into any program.
Orientation
Student orientation will be on or before the first day of class.
Vaccination Policy
Texas Department of licensing and Regulation in the State of Texas does not require any documentation of vaccination records at this time.
Voters Registration
Mai-Trix Beauty College encourages all American Citizen Students to register to vote when it comes to an election day. Voter’s registration forms are available at school office and are distributed to students during the financial aid orientation of the first day of class.
Constitution Day: On Sept 17, of each year Mai-Trix Beauty College and its student’s body will hold a day dedicated to the Constitution of the United States that was established on September 17, 1787.
Academic Calendar
1) TDLR Regulated Programs:
The curricula progresses through the required course material, which is based on the sequence of topics and corresponding required clock hours, set forth by the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR). In essence, the course material is presented in a sequential manner. For example, once the entire sequence of topics in the program has been presented, the material is presented again beginning with the first topic. Therefore; at any given starting date, a student is scheduled to complete all the course requirements including all theory and practical applications within the time frame required for graduation.
All course programs are based on an open enrollment. Each course program starts on the first Monday of each week. Graduation date is based on the student’s enrollment date contract.

Course Hour Requirements
Cosmetology Course: 1500 Hours
Esthetics Specialist Course: 750 Hours
Instructor Training Course: 750 Hours
*The program length requirements are set forth by and in conjunction with TDLR requirements
Program Completion Time Frames
Cosmetology (1500 clock hours)
Full-time – 63 weeks- approximately 15 months
Part-time –126 weeks- approximately 30 months
Esthetics Specialist(750 clock hours)
Full-time –23 weeks- approximately 6 months
Part-time –46 weeks- approximately 12 months
Instructor Training (750 clock hours)
Full-time –23 weeks- approximately 6 months
Part-time –46 weeks- approximately 12 months
Attendance and Clock Hours
Cosmetology, Esthetics, and Cosmetology Instructor Student:
As per the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation, students must clock and sign in upon entering building and must clock out upon exiting for any reason. Any student found out of the building that is not clocked out will be reprimanded and a written violation will be posted to their file. Each month student hours are calculated and posted on the TDLR monthly hour report. Students have the opportunity to review and initial these reports which are held in an accessible binder. These hour reports are inspected by the TDLR State Inspector upon each visit. Copies are then sent to TDLR by the inspector after each visit. Once a student’s withdraws from a program, these hours are posted on the student permit and then submitted to TDLR. If student has withdrawn prior to completion of program, and all required tuition has been tendered, these hours will be released to TDLR. Transcripts of these hours will be released to the institution or student upon request from TDLR. Transcripts will also be either mailed to the student or available for pick-up within a reasonable time frame.
- All students must clock in upon entering the school and clock out when leaving the school.
- Students must take a 30 minute lunch break at the designated time.
- Students leaving the building for any reasonmust clock out, including smoke breaks.
- Students may not clock in/out on behalf of other students.
Students not receiving Title IV funding will be held to the same satisfactory academic progress standards as Title IV recipients. All students must be
Enrolled at least as part-time status. The contract date and completion criteria documented on the enrollment agreement will indicate the rate at
Which the student must earn clock hours. All students must attend classes and earn hours according to a full time or part-time schedule as
Specified in their contract.
Failure to complete the program within the time specified on the enrollment agree will result in overtime charges at a rate of $10 per
Scheduledinstructional hour.
Transfer Student Hours under the TDLR regulated programs:
Students wishing to enroll in the College who had previously been enrolled in another institution will be given credit of previous hours earned, once
proof of hours is received from Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation in Austin, Texas. Students must submit an academic transcript in
order to be given credit for coursework performed at a previous school.
Facilities and Equipment
Mai-Trix Beauty College occupies approximately 5,000 square feet of space. The space is on one level, is well-ventilated, centrally air-conditioned and heated, fluorescent lighted, well-maintained, and aesthetically pleasing. The school has classrooms, administrative offices, a student lounge, shampoo area, and the lab area for students to practice is configured as an attractive salon. In addition, the school is equipped with a television, VCR, projection unit, software and video tapes used for visual aid to the instruction. The shampoo area is a separate space reserved for shampooing that contains six (6) shampoo bowels and shampoo chairs. All supplies are dispensed from a central supply room. There is a library/media source area containing books and video tapes which include not only the basic areas of cosmetology, but also additional advanced areas of the field of study. Additional theory assistance on a “one on one” basis and learning aids are available to each student upon request and approval by MBC staff.
