TRAIN Directions to Secaucus

From UNICEF House

As of July 2008

  1. Walk to Grand Central Station at corner of 42 Street and Lexington Avenue.
  2. Enter Subway to take the Shuttle (S) to Time Square ($2).
  3. Once at Time Square, take the 1, 2, or 3 train one stop to Penn Station.
  4. Exit subway following signs for Penn Station, then follow signs for trains, specifically New Jersey Transit (NJ Transit).
  5. Purchase ticket(s) for Secaucus Junction ($3/each way). Ask which track and train to board – keep your ticket and do not let the train conductor take it from you.
  6. Secaucus is the first stop (about 10 minutes). Exit the train and use your ticket to exit the turnstiles. Once in the main atrium of the train station, take the elevator down to the street level.
  7. Exit the building walking under the bridge. Cover a distance of about 200m.
  8. Follow the turn in the road to the right. Cover a distance of about 200m.
  9. At the first opportunity, turn sharp left onto Castle Road. After about 200m on the right you will see the UNICEF PSD facility. Continue another 200m.
  10. Turn left just before the security watchman booth for Jefco Inc.
  11. UNICEF is the second lot on the right.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

From New Jersey Turnpike south

  1. Take NJ Turnpike towards the Lincoln Tunnel / EASTERN SPUR.
    DO NOT GO towards GeorgeWashingtonBridge.
  2. Just south of the Lincoln Tunnel, take Exit 15X - Secaucus Rail Station.
  3. Continue on the looping off-ramp past the stop-lights at North and South Streets. Get in left lane as you approach the next stop-light at Sea view Drive and New County Road.
  4. Take a left onto New County Road and go 0.1 miles.
  5. Take first right onto Castle Road (before bridge) and go 0.3 miles.
  6. When you see the grass on your right, that tan building is our warehouse. Go slowly past the fire hydrant and bus stop. On the NEAR right corner you will see a big white sign for 111-115 Castle Road just before you reach the Jefco warehouse/chain link fence.
  7. Take a right and pass the sign on your right. Our building is in middle where there is a grass Island
  8. Look for the loading docks # 5 and park in front of it.

From New York City:

  1. Take the Lincoln Tunnel to New Jersey (our warehouse is exactly 7 miles from the tunnel exit via the NJ Turnpike).
  2. Stay to the left and follow signs to NJ Turnpike South.
  3. Take NJ Turnpike South about 4 miles to Exit 15X - Secaucus Rail Station.
  4. Follow from step 3 using the NJ Turnpike directions above.

From Route 3 in New Jersey:

  1. Exit Route 3 at Meadowlands Parkway.
  2. If you were on Route 3 West (coming from NY/Lincoln Tunnel) take a left at bottom of off-ramp and get into right lane through the traffic light.
  3. Take Meadowlands Parkway straight, staying in middle lane, approximately 1.5 miles through a few lights. As you near large brick building complex on the right (HarmonCoveTowers) stay left and go over the small bridge.
  4. Get into right lane as you cross bridge and go straight through light at bottom of bridge - check your odometer - you will be turning in exactly 1 mile.
  5. As you near the 1 mile mark you will pass the Jefco warehouse on your left and should see a big white sign on the grassy corner for 111-115 Castle Road. Our warehouse is in the middle.
  6. Take a left BEFORE the sign our building is in the middle
