(a)Transport Facilities
Air : Hyderabad (Shamshabad) Airport is around 42km from CHAI Central Office.
Trains: The twin-cities of Hyderabad havefour Railway Stations: Secunderabad, Hyderabad (Nampally), Kachiguda and Begumpet. The nearest alighting points are Secunderabadand Begumpet. If you come via Mumbai route by trains terminating at Hyderabad (Nampally) Railway Station, please alight at Begumpet Railway Station.
Buses: There are twoInter State Bus Terminals. The one at Secunderabad is known as Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) and the Hyderabad Bus Station is called ‘Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS).
(b) Reporting/Contact Point
The delegates are requested to report at the Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI) Central Office, 157/6 Staff Road, Gunrock Enclave, Secunderabad 500 009. CHAI CentralOffice is nearDiamond Point and it is located opposite the Cantonment Workshop and next to South Indian Bank Limited.The well-known landmark is “Diamond Point Hotel”.
CHAI Central Office is around ½ km from the Diamond Point Hotel. You have to make your own arrangements to reach the Central Office.
Those who are arriving at Secunderabad/Kachiguda as well asBegumpet Railway Stationmay engage an autorickshaw and take the route via Paradise &Sikh Villageto Diamond Point and take a right turn to reach CHAI Central Office. Auto farefrom Begumpetis around Rs.80/- & from Kachiguda is around Rs.200/-.
A number of local RTC buses [Nos. 26, 26N, 26M] ply from the Secunderabad Railway Station to Bowenpallyvia Diamond Point. Bus Nos. 26N and 26M pass in front of CHAI Office. The bus fare from Secunderabad Station is Rs.9.00 & auto fare is around Rs.60.00. Your alighting point is Diamond Point.
Those who are arriving by Inter-State Buses at MG Bus Station, may board RTC local bus Nos.1, 27 which pass in front of the Bus Station and reach Secunderabad Railway Station. Your alighting point is Secunderabad Railway Station. Then take an auto or bus to CHAI Central Office.
Those who arrive at Jubilee Bus Station at Secunderabadmay engage an auto toreach CHAI Central Office. The auto fare is around Rs 30.00.
Accommodation will be arranged for those who require it. Kindly indicate in the registration form whether or not you require accommodation. Those who are making own arrangements for accommodation are expected to arrange their own means of transport to and from the venue. The fee and other charges, however, will remain the same.
c. Weather
The weather in September is expected to be pleasant. However, you may carry an umbrella. Also please bring abath-towel along with you.
