Review of SDSM&T Workers Comp / Deb Sloat reviewed the workers comp trends from 01/01/07 – 04/25/07. Here are the details: 33 chemical incidents, 7 falls (not related to ice/snow), 5 carpal tunnel, 2 bending/lifting, 2 allergy, 1 car accident, 1 fall ice/snow, 1 animal bite, 1 dehydration. HR has received the following information for chemical related incidents, “From this point forward, if you have incidents that have no injuries or symptoms, or require no medical attention, no first report of injury needs to be completed. As it is our understanding that you will continue to complete an incident report with Jerilyn. If something were to come of the incident in the future, we could obtain the information from the incident report and then file a first report of injury with work comp. “ (E-mail from Lisa Devries – 04/25/07)
