Children Today Regional Fundraiser Job Description
Job Title / Regional FundraiserResponsible to / CEO
Salary
Length of contract / £22,500
Permanent, subject to performance
anda six month probationary period
Children Today wishes to recruit a capable and proactive fundraiser to generate income from a range of sources. The role will focus on the Chester and West Cheshire areas, but may occasionally work alongside our other fundraiser in Bolton.
This is a newly created role. The expectation will be for the fundraiser to devise, establish and grow a range of activities, including but not restricted to, community events, major events and corporate connections.
The target will be for the fundraiser to raise 3.5X their salary in income per annum. As a new post this will clearly require both investment and time, and as such a clear strategy for growth to this point will be agreed with the CEO & Board at the outset. However the successful candidate will be measured against this target and failure to meet it may lead to corrective action.
The fundraiser will have support from a team of volunteers, being brought together by a newly recruited Volunteer Coordinator. This fundraiser will be expected to work with the volunteers, particularly to spread the reach and presence of the charity at events. However the Volunteer Coordinator will do the recruitment and supervision of the volunteers.
In addition Children Today employs an office based fundraising support officer, who is able to provide full administrative support, and occasional support at events.
Children Today’s office is based in Christleton. However we are likely to move in the near future. That, plus the nature of the work, means that some homeworking and/or hotdesking may be involved.
Extensive travel around the North West is assumed for this post. There is also certainly going to be evening and weekend work, albeit infrequently.
The post will be subject to a six-month probationary period.
