Preface
The bibliography that follows is and will remain a work in progress. The entries have been developed in the course of the author’s teaching and research at the Conservation Center since 1969. The bibliographic efforts of the many students whose papers provided entries are gratefully acknowledged. Similarly, colleagues have been generous in sharing their specialized bibliographies. In particular, Dr. Robert Ehrenreich of the National Academy of Sciences contributed to Part II – Metals.
The real heroes and heroines of this effort are the student assistants who risked carpal tunnel syndrome and CRT overexposure to provide the elegant wordperfection of the current draft. In chronological order they are:
Ann Siebert
Dominic Leo
Amy Meserve
Isabelle Tokimaru
Anthony Balbona
Margo Mc Farland
Cindy Connelly
George Anastasian
Erin Hayes
A Note On Organization
Since the sections were prepared and revised in the context of the author’s teaching and research, there are obvious gaps and areas of overlap among them. These will be rationalized in due course. Part X, the Cumulative Index, provides an interim subject index.
The generous support of the Hagop Kevorkian Fund for this project is gratefully acknowledged.
