A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE BOY SCOUT JASON SHEPARD OF HARTSVILLE ON RECEIVING THE PRESTIGIOUS EAGLE SCOUT AWARD, COMMEND HIM FOR HIS HARD WORK, PERSEVERANCE, AND MANY ACHIEVEMENTS WHILE EARNING THE HIGHEST HONOR IN SCOUTING, AND WISH HIM EVERY SUCCESS IN ALL OF HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are very pleased to learn that Boy Scout Jason Shepard of Hartsville has earned the prestigious and coveted Eagle Scout Award, the highest honor in scouting; and

Whereas, as an active member of Boy Scout Troop 7, Jason Shepard attended troop meetings faithfully, participated in many overnight camps, held high leadership positions, and performed or participated in numerous individual or troop service projects in the community; and

Whereas, this fine scout, while progressing steadily through the ranks of scouting, demonstrated that he lived by the principles of the Scout Oath and Law in his daily life. He is a source of pride to his troop, his family, and to all who know and have had the pleasure of working and serving with him throughout his scouting career; and

Whereas, Jason befriends all scouts he comes into contact with and shows concern for every scout in every activity in which he is involved. He especially enjoyed the outdoor part of scouting and inclement weather has always been a challenge to him; and

Whereas, he is employed at ESAB Welding and Cutter Products in Florence and now serves his State and nation in the National Guard; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate this outstanding young man on the occasion of this truly deserved award. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly congratulate Boy Scout Jason Shepard of Hartsville on receiving the prestigious Eagle Scout Award, commend him for his hard work, perseverance, and many achievements while earning the highest honor in scouting, and wish him every success in all of his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Jason Shepard.
