Expectations: homework, behaviour, uniform and attendance
At Addey and Stanhope, we have the highest expectations of both staff and students and it is my intention for us to work together, to ensure that these expectations are upheld at all times.
I hope you will give me your full support in ensuring that your child attends school punctually every day, and that they are fully equipped and prepared for their lessons. In particular, I would ask that students wear their Addeys uniform with pride at all times, both in school and on the journey to school.
Homework
We see homework as a vital part of the learning process. It is part of student life at Addeys. Homework allows students to reinforce their understanding of work they have covered in the classroom as well as enables them to develop their independent learning skills, so vital for students to achieve both in school, at university and beyond.
Please do support us by checking your child’s homework and encouraging them to do their very best.

Are your contact details up to date?
It is extremely important that the school is able to get in touch with parents/carers easily on a day-to-day basis.
A copy of the contact details the school currently holds for your child is enclosed with this letter (except for new Y7 students). Please check it carefully, mark any amendments or additional numbers on the form and sign, date and return it to reception by 9am Monday 14th September. Please note that all forms are to be returned even if there are no amendments to be made.
Dates for your diary
Please keep the attached list in a safe place for future reference. It gives details of term/holiday dates and key dates throughout this school year. May I please remind you not to book holidays during term time as they will not be authorised and are extremely disruptive to your child’s education.
Parent Governor
We currently have a vacancy for a parent governor. Please see the attached letter for full details.
