About Elphy Quantum 1.3
-Open Elphy Quantum software (there is a shortcut on the)
-Choose Project>Open
Open project C:\quantum\project\ebl_09.dsk
-GDSII database window should be open on the ebl_tyo project desktop
Open design called EBL_example for editing from GDSII database window
(Note: Images can be opened in View or Edit mode, double clicking opens View mode)
-Toolbox should open automatically, if not open it View>Toolbox
-Study the example structures and get familiar with the Toolbox drawing and zooming options
-Zoom options can be found also from the View menu and the drawing options in the Add menu
-In GDSII editor window you can read
*the cursor coordinates (u,v)
*active layer (L)
*stepsize of the cursor movement (S),
stepsize can be changed by typing + and –
keeping the stepsize at suitable value makes drawing easier
*currently active command (Cmnd),
the last chosen command is usually active until you cancel it by typing Esc
-New design can be created in two ways
*right click on the GDSII database window and choose Create, give name to your structure and click OK
*right click on one of the EBL_example designs in the GDSII database window and choose Dublicate, then Rename the copied structure
-After creating the design for your own pattern set the Working area
*choose View>Window
*type inLower left:-1024-1024
and inUpper right: 1024 1024
*check the box: Save as working area
*click OK
*choose File>Save Working area
You should see now the gray frame in the GDSII editor window, if not choose Options>Working area. Your pattern should fit in this gray frame.
To draw your design:
-Use the draw options Box, Open path, Polygon, Circle, Text from the Toolbox or the Add menu
-Don’t draw large filled areas (see the example designs)
-By choosing Add>Preset you can preset the Layer, Dose and Line width of the lineto be drawn
-Coordinates, Layer, Dose and Line width can be also changed after drawing an object by double clicking it
-Scale the Dose of the objects between values 0,5…2,5
-In Modify menu you can find some useful options to modify drawn objects:
*Duplicate>Single/Matrix (Note the Dose scaling option in the matrix duplicate)
*Mirror (to make mirror copy, use Duplicate>Single first)
*Move
*Rotate
-Save your design often during work, there is no “undo” in the software File>Save
