Livewell
Jenny from Livewell presented the livewell scheme to the group, this outlined the sessions they are providing on site for drop in or scheduled healthy living appointments with the team. Tuesday 10-3.
Jenny also outlined the many services the scheme has around the area, including eating healthy on a budget, relaxation and self-esteem details of which are available on out websites.

Federations
Local medical committee supporting Wirral wide move to have a GP federation
Liverpool have formed already – not for profit.
Allow GP’s to provide services they can control as the staff providing the service will be employed by the federation. Phlebotomy, Ultrasound, physio for example.
The group also discussed privatisation concerns as many vets and councils are being taken over, more and more American systems are being introduced.
The managers remained the group that the practices are individual businesses providing an NHS service, and outlined the federation would help stop the privatisation as it would be controlled by the GP’s providing the NHS service.
We agreed to ask for a federation talk once it is established, also some members of the group were interested in attending Wirral patient voice group meetings, and this will give us greater insight again into the plans for Wirral. Tracey will message the CCG for the patients interested to be added to the mailing list to be included in the group meeting invites.
Miu Closing March?
The managers confirmed the minor injuries unit is funded March 16 and a request had been submitted for and extension until March 17. We discussed the implications for local patients who find this service invaluable as it is hard to get to A+E and also that the A+E service would be abused if these minor injuries unit were closed.
Online Access
From April 2016 patients can see coded information online, this is in addition to the online prescription ordering and appointment booking that patients currently have.
All agreed to try out the online access system and let the managers know what they thought.
Wirral Care record
Doctors will be able to view Wirral University Teaching Hospitals records, and they will be able to view ours with patient consent. This should speed up admission and discharge processes as well as allowing access to important information while patients are in hospital. All agreed it was a good idea as long as patent consent was asked. The managers outlined the fact that if a patient wished to opt out they could do, as they did with summary care record, risk stratification or care.data previously.
Any other Business
It was agreed that we would utilise friends and family test rather than the 4 page Patient Satisfaction Survey we had used previously to gage patient satisfaction. An analysis of the F+F test will be discussed at the individual group meeting.
It was agreed that reception should be checking mobile + email when patient phones up or visits the practice. This could be used to boost contact details for future invites and emails to be sent to the wider patient group. Any surveys could be e-mailed to a ‘virtual’ patient group and batch text reminders could be sent to invite patients to talks etc.

Healthwatch suggest having speakers and targeting groups ie diabetes talk and inviting diabetic patients, carers talk + inviting patient who are carers or have a carer etc.
Speak + attend successful group meetings.

Priority area 3
Description of priority area:
Apply to be a ‘hub’ site for 4-8 weekday nurse triage and weekend opening 10am-8pm.
Patients would be able to access these services on site at PMC rather than have to go to APH/Eastham or Wallasey.
What actions were taken to address the priority?
Have applied to be a Hub site, will ensure PPG has input when we need to supply more evidence.
