How to do Audio Setup when using Adobe Connect
Overview
This demo will show you how to do Audio Setup when using Adobe Connect.
Step by Step
- When you identified that you are going to use Adobe Connect, you need to make sure that your headsets and microphones are set up appropriately. In this demo I have already done a couple of things to make sure that the headsets and microphone are set up, but I want to go through the process that you do prior to setting it up on Adobe Breeze.
- First I had to make sure that the computer recognized the headset and the microphone. If the computer does not recognize the headset or microphone, Adobe Breeze will not recognize the headset or microphone. So those are two important pieces.
- Assuming that I have the headset and microphone set up, then I want to go into Adobe Connect and click on “meetings” and “manage my settings”.
- First I am going to “set up my audio”. The “audio wizard” is under that setting and I am going to follow the wizard through by clicking “next” and click “test”.
- At this point some very nice elevator music will come through the headset and you can tell that it is playing and is relaxing.
- Now you select the appropriate microphone or audio setup that you are going to use. I am using headset and microphone, so I am clicking on Logitech. Then I will click on “next”.
- Next I want to test my voice. You can see my recording bar is moving and my microphone is working properly. As you can see, the bar is definitely moving. Click “next”. At this point you are testing silence to make sure that the “stay silent progress bar is filled. Once it is completed, you can click “next” again.
- At this point you could click on “finish”, but I recommend you go into “advanced settings”. Depending upon what headset and audio system you are using, you may want to use “full duplex”, which means sound comes like a telephone of talking and listening at the same time. One-half duplex is like a walkie-talkie where one person talks at a time and then the next person talks. In my case I have headphones.
- If I would be having a group of people sitting around, I would have it set on full duplex.
- For “quality” I typically keep it on good, which means a little less band width and a little bit faster.
- Next I will click on “okay” and click “finish”.
So theoretically my setup is done, so I will wait until the “set up is complete” message is received.
