Job Title: Girls Varsity Assistant Lacrosse Coach

Reports to: Head Girls Lacrosse Coach & SPRD Executive Director

Works Closely with: Lacrosse Advisory Committee, SPRD Program Coordinator, High School Athletic Director, students and parents

Status: Temporary (Lacrosse Season)

Starting Pay: $1,000 per season.

Deadline: All applications should be received at the SPRD office no later than 5:00pm on Friday November 3rd.

Schedule: Practices will be Monday-Friday from 3:30-5:30pm. Games will require travel with the team and some late nights and weekends.

Job Purpose: Assist in coaching our lacrosse athletes to help them grow as a total person, improving their lacrosse skills, teamwork, interpersonal skills, and work ethic.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·  Support the head coach with teaching and motivating players.

·  Assist the head coach by keeping player statistics, and timing drills.

·  Work with athletes 1-on-1 or in small group settings to improve areas of weakness.

·  Lead drills or conditioning presented by head coach.

·  Assist the head coach with equipment and player gear distribution and collection.

·  Maintain a good rapport with the team, parents, lacrosse advisory committee, and head coach.

·  Assist with Fundraising for needs outside limited budget.

·  Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·  SPRD seeks to develop the athlete as a total person and encourages multidimensional athletes. We seek coaches, who are motivated, enthusiastic, and driven to developing talent in accordance with this philosophy.

·  Desired 2+ years of lacrosse experience, either as a player or coach.

·  Possesses in-depth knowledge of the game of lacrosse.

·  Excellent organizational skills.

·  Realize that they are a model and are expected to conduct themselves with the highest ethical and moral standards of good sportsmanship and teaching.

·  Embrace the desire to build inclusive programs based on the pursuit of excellence.

Working Conditions: Work is generally performed outdoors. Pressures and stress of the position range from dealing with injuries, crisis situations and safety concerns to dealing with a wide variety of participant and parent concerns.
