RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE 2009 UPDATE OF THE HOUSING ELEMENT

OF THE GENERAL PLAN OF TRINITYCOUNTY

(PW-12-01)

The following Resolution is now offered and read:

WHEREAS, following careful study, including the findings recommended by the California Department of Housing and Community Development, and the holding of public hearings, the Trinity County Planning Commission recommended to the Board of Supervisors the adoption of the 2009 update of the Housing Element of the General Plan for the County of Trinity; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 65585(e) of the California Government Code, the findings of the California Department of Housing and Community Development have been considered by this Board of Supervisors; and

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors, after having carefully considered the General Plan and noticed and held the required public hearing, finds that the 2009 update of the Housing Element provides a suitable and logical plan for the future development of Trinity County and is compatible with other elements of the General Plan; and

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors, after reviewing the evaluation of Environmental Impact (Initial Study) that was prepared for this project pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), concurs with the Planning Commission's determination of August 9, 2012 that this project will not have a significant adverse impact on the environment.

WHEREAS: this Board of Supervisors considered and tentatively adopted the negative declaration and the associated update of the 2009 to 2014 Housing Element at a public hearing on September 18, 2012, pending the State Department of Housing and Community Development’s final action;, and

WHEREAS: The State Department of Housing and Community Development has provided a letter dated October 25, 2012 accepting the Housing Element Update as submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Trinity, State of California, that said Board hereby finds and does adopt the following amendments to the General Plan of the County of Trinity:

  1. Delete the 2003 Housing Element, its goals, objectives, and policies from the Trinity County General Plan in its entirety.
  1. Adopt the updated 2009 Housing Element, its goals, objectives, and policies as part of the General Plan of the County of Trinity.
