4. Post Cemetery, 1878
Holds the graves of soldiers and dependents, and civilians that were stationed at Fort Missoula.
5. Historical Museum at Fort Missoula, 1911 (HMFM) Once served as the quartermasters storehouse. Currently houses exhibit galleries, a gift shop and research library and offices.(Open
6. NCO Quarters, 1878 (HMFM)The oldest of three original structures still standing. The duplex style building housed Non-commissioned officers, civilian employees and army personnel 1877-1947.
7. Original Log non-commissioned Officers Carriage house, 1880 (HMFM)One of three original structures still standing. Housed tack and buggies for the non-commissioned officers and their families.
8. Homestead Cabin ca1900, (HMFM) moved 1974Originally a settlers home located in the Potomac Valley 40 acres
east of Missoula. Now used for storage.
9. Grant Creek Schoolhouse, est. 1907, (HMFM) moved to museum grounds in 1976.Once located north of Missoula in the lower Grant Creek drainage area, it served the farming area until 1937. It was restored in the current location.
10. Drummond Depot, 1910, (HMFM),moved 1982 Originally constructed in Drummond (60 miles southeast of Missoula) and was moved to the Museum grounds after Montana Railroad operations closed. / 11. St. Michael’s Church 1863, moved 1981 (HMFM) Constructed by St. Ignatius Mission Jesuits in Hell Gate Ronde about 4 miles west of Missoula.
12. Detention Camp Barracks 1941 (HMFM) moved 1995. One of several wooden barracks constructed by Italian internees held at Fort Missoula (1941-1944). It currently houses an exhibit examining Fort Missoula’s internment camp.
13. Transportation Building, 2006 (HMFM) Currently houses the Fort Missoula Trolley Car.
14. Old Officers Row 1910-1914. Dismantled post WWII. Overlooks the Forts old parade grounds, located south of the old officers row.
15. First New Post Headquarters Bldg. T-1, 1940. Occupied by the US Forest Service. Not open to the public.
16. Second New Post Headquarters Bldg. T-2, 1940 (Northern Rockies Heritage Center) Once the Officers exchange and Library as well as the gymnasium. Open for public events by rental, Phone: 728-3662

37. Officer’s Club (NRHC) Burned 1971.
38. Stone Powder Magazine, 1878. (NRHC) Second oldest building on the Fort Missoula Grounds. During the active period of Fort Missoula this building was used to store explosives. It is no longer used to store munitions.
39. Forestry Lookout Tower and Interpretive Area (HMFM) Houses a “Timber” exhibit which includes a recreated logging spur, a rare Shay-type engine, logging flat cars, wagons and a sawmill.
40. Miller Creek Guard Cabin 1910, (HMFM) moved 1983 Once used as a post for “Fire watchers”. Now used to present the history of forest protection and fire management.
