GRANTS TO BE AWARDED FOR TRAINING
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Beginning January 15, 2016, the Department of Juvenile Justice will be accepting applications for an independent training organization to provide training for group facilitators and on Aggression Replacement Training (ART®).
Approximately $30,000 will be available through the Department of Juvenile Justice. The funds have been earmarked for training.

Grants Reference for Proposals (RFP)

The Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking an independent training organization to provide training for group facilitators and on Aggression Replacement Training (ART®).

Scope of Work:

DJJ is seeking a training organization to implement the following ART trademarked training curriculum:

·  ART® Training for Group Facilitators—a 5-day interactive training seminar for individuals who wish to deliver the ART® program to clients. The training should require individuals to take a pre-test and post-test to demonstrate acquisition of learning and skills. The trainer should also require individuals to deliver three complete cycles of the ART® program during which time technical assistance with training/implementation issues are provided.

·  ART® Training for Trainers—a 5-day training seminar that trains pre-screened applicants who wish to be trainers of ART® Group Facilitators. This seminar should combine trainer skill development sessions and ART® trainer sessions. The training should also require ART® Trainer of Trainers to co-facilitate with an ART® Master Trainer in the training of group facilitators.

Timeline:

Applicants should propose a training curriculum timeline over a 12-18 month period, with the Training for Group Facilitators in Phase I (the first 3-6 months following award) and the Training for Trainers in Phase II (the subsequent 12-18 months following award).

Total funds available: $30,000

Applications will be scored using the following criteria-

Project/ Program Description: 50 points
Project/ program description is clear and concise and adequately outlines proposed services. 25 points
Timeline is included and details training curriculum timeline over a 12-18 month period. 25 points
Budget: 50 points
Proposed budget provides consistent, accurate calculations as well as adequate budget narrative explanations which support funding expenditures. 25 points
Grant fund expenditures reflect acceptable program needs. 25 points
Scoring scale:
100-85: Proposal appears to be complete, accurate, comprehensive, effective, and reasonable with no significant deficiencies.
84-70: Proposal appears complete, accurate, comprehensive, effective, and reasonable with only minor deficiencies that must be addressed prior to funding.
69 and below: Proposal appears to have major deficiencies and does not qualify for funding.
