Dear Community College Faculty:

Because of funding provided by the Center for Slavic and East European Studies (CSEES) at The Ohio State University, we are able to sponsor a limited number of U.S. community college faculty scholarshipsto participate in the Annual International Conference on Conflict Resolution Education, June 11th – 14th, 2014.

The sponsorship will cover participation in the pre-conference trainings on June 11th and 12th and main conference on June 13th and 14thas well as up to 4 nights of hotel accommodation. All other expenses are the responsibility of the faculty member.This is a great opportunity to network, share, and learn with 100+ trainers, presenters, and keynotes from around the globe in the field of education, conflict resolution, and peace.

The following selection criteria and details for applying include:

Eligibility:

  1. Community College Faculty must be employed by a U.S. College.
  2. Community College Faculty may be adjunct or full time employees.
  3. Community College Faculty must teach a peace or conflict resolution course at their institution.
  4. Community College Faculty must attend the “Using the Pulitzer Center’s Global Journalism Resourcesin Your Classroom” (June 12th, 9AM – 5PM) pre-conference training and the “Building Global Awareness in the Classroom” (June 13th, 2014) workshop (see the complete listing of pre-conference trainings and workshops at: ).
  5. Community College Faculty must be interested in incorporating more about international issues, EasternEurope and/or Eurasia in their curriculum

How to apply:

1. Faculty must submit a 1-2 page, double spaced statement detailing how participating in the conference relates to a course he or she currently teach and how they plan to add more content relating to Eastern Europe and/or Eurasia to their courses by attending the conference. Please include a current course syllabus.

At some point in the 2014-15 academic year, CSEES will contact awardees with a simple inquiry about how they are using their conference experiences in the classroom.
