Qualifications
1. / High school diploma or equivalent or special diploma required.2. / Two years’ experience in repair/service of power tools/power equipment - air, electric, and/or gas operated, or
3. / An approved power equipment certification from an accredited vocational institution.
4. / Valid Florida Driver License.
Job Goal
To complete assigned work in maintenance, service, and repair of a wide variety of power tools and equipment throughout the district and maintenance tool crib.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of a wide variety of power tools/equipment, both fuel and electric powered. Knowledge of two- and four-stroke engines in any type of one to four cylinders. Knowledge of ignition and charging systems as well as related electronic circuitry. Ability to make repairs to most equipment/machines with or without manuals. Ability to process work-orders electronically. Ability to follow complex directions, both written and verbal.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions
1. / Provide routine maintenance and service to air, small engine, and electric powered equipment.2. / Troubleshoot and diagnose powered equipment and make needed repairs.
3. / Provide welding repairs, operate both oxy/acetylene and electric arc applications.
4. / Maintain an inventory of tool crib equipment for check-out and use.
5. / Organize and maintain accurate inventories, service, and other types of records.
6. / Prioritize needed work to maintain availability of critical equipment for check-outs.
7. / Perform other duties as assigned commensurate with the skills and abilities of the position.
8. / Provide outstanding customer service and use positive interpersonal communications skills.
9. / Make all decisions and perform all tasks in accordance with Brevard Public Schools’ Organizational Values.
10. / Ensure compliance with Board rules and applicable federal laws and regulations.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
