Extra swimming lessons –
All those year 5 pupils who did not meet the minimum swimming requirement (one width of the pool unaided) were funded to attend an intensive swimming course in May. This was a 4 day course in which pupils received more specialised training in order for them to attain their ‘yellow’ ribbon. / £550 / 52 non swimmers were entered into this program and 30 achieved their yellow ribbon.
Through this we have allowed more pupils to confidently enter the water unaided and also given them more reason to swim in their free time.
In the original action plan for the 2014/15 money had been allocated for lunch time activities and I-pads. All lunch time staff have been trained to deliver high quality games and activities during lunch time.
The training and equipment did not come from the sports premium and after reviewing in September 2015 this has continued.
Each class also now have an I-pad; however, these did not come from the sports premium. They can, and are, used in PE to help lesson delivery and assessment. / £0 / Each class also now have an I-pad; however, these did not come from the sports premium.
