Using McGraw- Hill Online Resources in the Computer Lab

Part 1: Set Up Your Teacher Content

  1. Register for an account at using the instructions in Curriculum Central or Quick Start Guide located on
  2. For each McGraw-Hill Ttile or progam you will redeem a MASTER Code: (Two Different Numbers: Teacher Content and Student Content are two different programs.
  3. First log in and redeem Master Code: Teacher Content Master Codes for the Teacher’s Edition issued for your district.

  1. Click on “MY HOME”, Click Redeem MASTER Code, Enter your MASTER Code click “Next”. Review information and confirm the correct title.
  1. Add Teacher Content. Go back home.

Adding Student Content

  1. For Student Content: Log in and redeem student mastercode. It will give you a redemption code to use with students. Save this. MASTERCODES AND REDEMPTION CODES ARE TWO DIFFERENT NUMBERS.\

  1. Click the Calendar icon and select an End Date.
  2. Click Create Redemption Code, Print Redemption Code Coupon
  3. Click “Ok” to view your ConnectED Content.

Adding Students

  1. On main screen after login, click button on the right that says Import Students.
  2. Click Download Student Template.
  3. Once the spreadsheet is open, click Detailed Directions and follow these to complete template.

Useful tips:

  1. Needed fields: Last name, first name, gender, grade, username and password, redemption code (see step 2)
  2. Username must be unique in connected system. I used child’s first name and my last name
  3. Passwords can all be the same and must include a number- I used catdog1
  4. These usernames and passwords will not actually be used by the students
  1. Save completed template to your computer.
  2. Select account and attach completed spreadsheet from your machine.
  3. Click check file for errors.
  4. When all errors are corrected, click complete import.
  5. Choose simplified login and print password cards.

Part 2: Planning For Lab Time

  1. In click on Treasures Grade 1 resources.
  2. Click on the tools button on online textbook, comprehension lessons, or phonics lessons.
  3. Choose Assign.
  4. Choose dates for the assignment, name it, select students.
  5. Click Assign button in upper right corner

Part 3: Using McGraw-Hill Online in the lab

  1. Look at the unique web address printed on your password cards. Create a shortcut on the desktops on the computers you plan to use. It will create an icon with the red McGraw- Hill square logo.
  2. When students come into the lab, they will click on the logo. This will go directly to a specially created website. The screen will show all registered classes from your campus.
  3. Students choose your class icon.
  4. Students find their personal icon and click.
  5. Students enter their personal “secret code” printed on their card and click login at the bottom of the page.
  6. Student clicks the “to do” button.
  7. Assignments you made for that child will pop up for them to complete.
