Booz Allen Classic Adds Leading International Trio to Field

Padraig Harrington, Bernhard Langer and Carlos Franco commit to tournament

Potomac, Md. (May 15, 2006) – Three highly regarded international golfers -- Padraig Harrington (Ireland), World Golf Hall of Famer and two-time Masters champion Bernhard Langer (Germany) and Carlos Franco (Paraguay) – committed to the 2006Booz Allen Classic, Tournament Executive Director Bob Jeffrey announced today. The trio joins a growing field of top-notch players, including defending champion and international superstar Sergio Garcia, local hero Fred Funk, Chris DiMarco, Lee Westwood, Charles Howell III, TomKite, Lee Janzen, Aaron Baddeley and Chris Couch, at the Washington area’s only PGA TOUR stop returning June 19-25 to the Tournament Players Club (TPC) at Avenel in Potomac, Md.

Attracting more than 100,000 fans over Tournament week each year, the Booz Allen Classic is the Washington area’s only PGA TOUR stop, hosting the world’s top professional golfers. The popular sporting event returns to the region for its 27th year, featuring four competitive rounds, two Pro-Am competitions, practice rounds and a host of other exciting on-site activities.

Since moving to the Washington area in 1980, the Booz Allen Classic has distributed nearly $10 million to charities, both locally and nationwide. Title sponsor Booz Allen Hamilton and Tournament host Washington Golf Charities, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, established a new tradition with the 2004 Tournament, assuring that 100 percent of all net proceeds are distributed to local charitable organizations.
