SCHOOL VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Over the last 5 years Thirlmere P & C have been collecting a voluntary contribution from families and utilising this funding to purchase much needed equipment and resources for the school not funded by the government. Thank you to all families who have generously contributed in this way. This form of fundraising has, and always will be, pivotal to providing our students with the resources they need.

From this year forward, these voluntary contributions will no longer be collected by our P & C but rather directly through the school. The funds will be used to purchase school resources that will enhance the educational programs being implemented.

This year we are aiming to raise $10,000 to purchase much needed readers, literacy resources and maths equipment for all classes. Over the last 12 months, we have dedicated over $12,000 to purchasing new guided readers and $6,000on maths resources. However, we still need more. Children need quality resources to learn and they do not come cheaply.

If all families pay the contribution fee, we have the ability to raise over $15,000.

We would greatly appreciate as many families as possible helping us reach our target of $10,000. We do realise this will be difficult for some families and understand not all families can contribute.

The fees for 2017 will be $40 per child or $60 per family. This fee can be paid in instalments over the year.Each family will notice this fee on their next statement of account. If you do not wish to pay the fee, just contact the school and it will be removed from your statement.
