Ground Rules
· All shooters and visitors are to report to the office upon arrival.
· Shooters to be registered members of the ACTA for all competition & practice days (or a member of an ACTA approved association for 5 Stand Sporting clays).
· Non members of the Melbourne Gun Club and the ACTA (also all non licensed shooters) must be signed in and supervised by an APPROVED Melbourne Gun Club member. Approval to shoot will only be given by prior appointment with Melbourne Gun Club Management Committee. No unauthorised instruction is to occur on Melbourne Gun Club grounds.
· All shooters/persons are not to enter the area or zone forward of the Down the Line Trap (this area is known as the fallout zone). Only authorised persons will enter or work in these areas.
· Ear protection MUST be worn when shooting, supervising and officiating at ALL times.
· Eye protection is strongly recommended by Melbourne Gun Club.
· No camouflage clothing is allowed on club grounds.
· No shot sizes larger than SIZE 7 (2.5mm) is to be used on grounds. Shooters found using loads with shot size bigger than size 7 will be asked to leave the premises with an automatic expulsion from the club to follow.
· Shooters using reloads must ensure their loads are both legal and safe to use. Reloads must conform to current ACTA rules and powder charge in reloads must not exceed the manufacturer’s recommendations. All loads, both factory and reloads can and will be checked for compliance by authorised Melbourne Gun Club personnel. Any shooter in breach of these rules will be asked to leave the premises with an automatic expulsion from the club to follow.
· No Steel Shot or Black Powder to be used at the Melbourne Gun Club grounds.
· Firearm safety must be the number 1 priority for ALL shooters on Melbourne Gun Club grounds at all times.
· It is the responsibility of all shooters and supervisors to be aware of all ACTA shooting rules and Victorian laws that apply to shooting at the Melbourne Gun Club.
· Melbourne Gun Club at its absolute discretion may change or vary any existing shooting squad member/s with no reason given to the affected squad member/s.
· Firearms must always be properly stored as per Victorian Law when not in use on the grounds (i.e. not left unattended) and be securely locked in your vehicle out of view.
· Melbourne Gun Club reserves the right to inspect and / or audit any shooter attending Melbourne Gun Club grounds for compliance to these Ground Rules.
There are to be NO EXCEPTIONS to the above rules. Anyone found not complying with these rules will be asked the leave the grounds immediately and will face expulsion from Melbourne Gun Club. On matters of firearms, a written report will be forwarded to the district firearms officer.
