For calendar year 2016, donations now total $26,500. These funds will be used to meet liturgical and facility needs of the parish. PARISH NEWSLETTER
In an effort to enhance communications within the parish and make sure all our parishioners are up to date with parish news and happenings, the Parish Pastoral Council is looking into once again publishing a monthly parish newsletter. A parish newsletter is nothing new for St. Therese, but it has not been done in many years.
We are looking for suggestions about what topics might be covered in the newsletter and the best way to format and send it (snail mail/email or some of both). If you have suggestions or ideas for the newsletter, writing skills, or an interest in helping to get the newsletter out each month, please call or email Cheryl Davis (804-693-6892 or ). A newsletter can greatly benefit our parishioners and parish, but it won’t happen without help from parishioners.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!
We are planning to have our Fall Wine and Cheese on Saturday, November 19th after the 5:00 PM Mass. All parishioners 21 and over are invited to attend. Hope to see everyone there!
THE ANGEL TREE IS COMING!
This year’s Angel Tree will be in the commons starting November 12 and will be available with both Angel Tags for children in our community as well as stockings for Migrant Ministries of the Eastern Shore. All gifts and stockings must be returned with tags by the weekend of December 3 & 4. Please consider blessing someone in our community by taking a tag or a stocking!!
OLD GLORY
The Knights of Columbus will be collecting worn and tattered US flags for proper disposal. A faded or torn flag should be retired properly and replaced with a vibrant new flag. Please bring in your old flags and place them in the Old Soldier’s Footlocker which will be located in the Social Hall during November in honor of our Veterans. Thank you.

PRE-ELECTION STATEMENT
Bishop Francis DiLorenzo of Richmond and Bishop Paul Loverde of Arlington have issued a pre-election statement to guide Virginia Catholics before going into the voting booth on November 8th. They call on Catholics to carefully form their consciences, pray, learn the issues, consider candidates’ character and use principles of Catholic social teaching to guide them. See their statement in English and Spanish, as well as four principles of Catholic social teaching and other voter resources on the Virginia Catholic Conference website at www.vacatholic.org.
FROM PARISH COUNCIL
