JOB DESCRIPTION
This job description has been drawn up to correspond with Natalie’s current role as Paces Funding Co-ordinator; when new duties are incorporated into her role, the PA will be required to work flexibly to accommodate such changes.
If Natalie moves from her current role to take up a new position within Paces, the PA job description may need to be revisited to ensure that it corresponds with her new role.
In the event that Natalie leaves her current position to take up employment elsewhere, PA working arrangements may need to be temporarily suspended due to the cessation of Access to Work funding;once a new regime of funding has been secured,discussions will take place regarding whether the PA wishes to pursue employment with Natalie within another setting(such a move may incur some changes to the PA job description).
As Natalie’s position with Paces is based upon a permanent contractcommencing 18th February 2015, the PA working arrangements are based likewise.
Purpose of Role:
To enable Natalie, who is visually impaired, to fulfil her day-to-day duties in a professional and efficient manner, taking into account her progressive sight loss and any additional support needs that may arise as a result of this. Natalie employs two Pa’s throughout the course of the working week, and there is a requirement here for the Pa’s to be able to cover one another’s annual leave and sickness absences.
Main Tasks:
- Toassist Natalie with accessing all relevant print and handwritten documents, including checking the contents of her pigeon hole on a daily basis
- To enableNatalie to use the internet and social media effectively, including researching and downloading relevant information as requested
- To accompany Natalie to external meetings and events, enabling her to negotiate unfamiliar venues and ensuring her safe transportation to and from these venues
- To help Natalie identify networking opportunities, and to aid this process
- To enable Natalie to prepare for meetings and events, including:
- Responding to invites as requested
- Identifying location of venues/checking out routes, journey times etc
- Reading agendas/ accompanying documents or forwarding these onto Natalie as requested
- To undertake some administrative functions, e.g.:
- Updating Natalie’s online calendar as required
- Filing documents on request
- Taking notes at meetings and relaying these to Natalie afterwards
- Filling in expenses claims forms as necessary
- Completing monthly Schools First timesheets
- Completing monthly Access to Work reimbursement forms
- To undertake any otherrelevant tasks as requested by Natalie
