Friday March 5, 2010 is this year’s date for the annual Smart Risk fundraiser at Osler Bluff Ski Club. The event is held annually in memory of Pete Crompton, who died tragically in 2003 in a boating accident on LakeMuskoka. Smart Risk is a registered charity mandated to encourage our young people to think before they act.
The event includes continental breakfast, lunch, après snacks and drinks plus your lift ticket. In the past, they have presented participants with a door gift that is worth the price of admission. I don’t have the figure for this year at this time however it usually runs around $125.00 for the day. In the past, our members plus guests have numbered as many as fifty people at the event.
For those not familiar with Osler, it is the first ski club we from Orillia come to in the Blue Mountains area. Osler is a very forgiving hill and it is considered the finest ski area in Ontario. They boast Ontario’s longest run at just over one mile.
Come and test your mettle against such alpine legends as “Revelstoke” Ron Sattler, “Jay Peak” Jerry Wink, Charles “Crested Butte” Kelly or “Big White” Bob Brown (and we’re not talking about his hair).
Bring your friends, this day is a total gas. Details to follow.
