1. Website: Personal Wellness

URL:

2. I thought this site was very organized and the information listed was useful the site listed further resources to further an individual’s knowledge if they would like to know more on a specific topic. The layout of the site was appealing as it looked very professional.

3. To technologically improve this website, I think I would incorporate more links in the free resources. This would make it easier for users to read what the source is and then have the link to the source on the side.

4. The content I would add on this website is a “Healthy Adults” tab. There is a healthy kids tab, but I feel like there should be one solely for adults since the Healthy Eating Planner calculator is designed to help adults.

5. I believe the information on this website is accurate because it provides great detail and is backed up with resources and slideshows. Also, I am recalling a lot of the information that I learned in my nutrition courses and the site is provided concrete information.

6. I could use this site in my profession by recommending my clients to go on and use the information provided; this site shows appropriate proportion sizes which can be useful for someone making diet modifications.

7. The calculator on this website was user friendly and only took a few minutes to use. The information calculated was accurate.

1. Website: Nutrition Calculators

URL:

2. The layout of this site was cluttered and there was just too much going on. There were links all over the place and it was made up of too many different subjects.

3. To technologically improve this website, I would organize the links into different tables since there are so many different categories that make up this website.

4. I do not think I would add any written content to this site because there is so much of it already. If anything, I would add more images to make it more appealing.

5. The information is accurate as the information in each of the categories is truthful; there are statistics with resources from studies, so I would consider this a reliable site.

6. I could use this site in my profession by having an in-depth backup of information when speaking to my client about different topics. I can go to this site and know that the answer I am looking for is probably on this page. Also, there are many different calculators I can ask my client to go on and use so that she will be able to calculate her information all in one site.

7. There are multiple calculators on this page and I used the BMI calculator to see if the outcome was accurate since I know my BMI; my results from this calculator were accurate.

1. Website: Calorie Counter

URL:

2. The site was black and white without any color or graphics at all. The calculator was easy to use, but I wish the site had more appeal to it.

3. To technologically improve this website, I would have it bring you to a home page rather than instantly getting to the calculator. This way, the page can explain the calculator and add graphics and images. Also, there is a broken link on this website called “The Athlete’s Bookstore,” which could decrease the sites credibility to the user.

4. The content I would add to this site would be directions on how to use the calculator and also information on calories. Users may only be looking to use the calculator, but information on calories could be used to their benefit.

5. The information on this website seems accurate as I entered in a 3 mile run and it calculated that I burned almost 300 calories from that activity; I learned in Nutrition for Fitness that this ratio, distance to calories burned, is correct.

6. I could use this website in my profession by recommending it to my clients to keep track of the calories they are burning through physical activity. The results from the calculator gives a lot of feedback which is why I would recommend the site.

7. The calculator I used on this website was the calorie counter and it only took me a few minutes to plug in my information. The results came quick and were accurate. The only thing I did not understand about the calculator was the coefficients at the bottom of the calculator and how you could change them. I did not know what they meant or represented and this could confuse other users as well.

1. Website: Health and Physical Education Assessment

URL:

2. The look of this website is very professional and the information is organized. I like how there is contact information easily to see on the home page; if a user had a question or wanted further information, they can easily find the information of who to contact.

3. To technologically improve this website, I would add more images/graphs/charts just to break up the text. Also, I would create links of the categories and put the multiple links in that link. Even though these links are organized, there are many of them and I would put them all in a link of their category to make it easier for users.

4. The content I would add to this site would be more information of the high school bus safety. Elementary school and middle school are made up of information that is very detailed, but high school has less than half of the information as the other two types of schools.

5. The information of this website does seem credible because it is constructed with many resources and specific detail on the school and bus safety. Also, the site provides reports so the user know where they are getting their data and statistics from.

6. I could use this site in my profession by recommending it to others to grasp the general idea of bus safety and curriculum. Not only that, but the site provides information on the learning curriculum, finance, and more. This site is definitely useful for the school district behind the site.

7. There is not a calculator that is available on this website.

1, Website: Calories Burned in Sports

URL:

2. The look of this website was made up of color, but did not include any graphics or images. Even though the site did not come off appealing to me, it looks like it includes a lot of information.

3. To technologically improve this website, I would add a table and make a link for the different category of links. Instead of having 10 different types of “golf” links, I would add one “golf” link and put the types of golf within that link. This way, the site can be more organized, easier for the user to use, and would have room for more images on the home page.

4. The content I would add to this website would be information about the page on the home page. I think that it is important to get an introduction to the website instead of having a list of sports as they main body. Also, I would take off the “sexual activity” link that is listed under sports.

5. The information on the website does not seem credible to me. When you click on a sport, it gives the calories burned from playing that sport and an example of a food you would burn. After clicking on a few of the sports, the calories in the food does not add up with the calories burned from the sport as the food calories are doubled and tripled of the sport calories. This definitely came off as skeptical to me.

6. I am not sure if I would use this website in my profession. Since I am skeptical in some of the information, it worries me if the other information I am obtaining is credible.

7. There are a few different logs listed on this website and you have to make an account to use them. I tried the “weight log” and just to sign up I had to give a lot of information. I do not think I should have to give my phone number and where I live to be able to plug in my food. The sign up process for the account was too much and may turn users away. Also, it did not appeal to me that I was graded on the foods I eat. This may make people feel bad and discourage them.
