TexasTechUniversityseeksan assistant/associate/fullProfessor ofTeacher EducationworkinginthegraduateprogramofCurriculumandInstructionwith anemphasisinCurriculumStudiesandTeacherEducation(CSTE)intheDepartmentofCurriculumandInstructionforanacademicyeartenure-linepositionstartinginJanuary2018 or September 2018.TheCSTEprogramisseekinganexemplaryindividualtojoinaproductivefacultythatincludesscholaractivistswhoareengagedinEC-12schools.

Qualifications:

Thesuccessfulcandidatewillhave:

(1)adoctorateoranABDstatusexpectedtocompletethedoctoralprogrambythetimeofhireinteachereducation,curriculumandinstruction,orcloselyrelatedfield;

(1)atleast threeyearsofEC-12teaching;

(2)adistinguishedtrack-recordofcollege-level teaching;

(3)a greatpotentialora track-recordofpeer-refereedpublicationandconferencepresentationsinthefieldofteachereducation;

(4)expertiseforconductingresearch, especially application and intervention research,inteachereducationusingqualitative and/or mixedmethodresearch methodologies;

(5)asolidunderstandingabouttheliterature, policies,andissuesin teacher education;

(6)a greatpotentialora track-recordofobtainingexternalfunding;and

(7)astrongexperienceworkingwithdiverse studentpopulations.

Preferencewillbe given tocandidateswhowillhavebutnotlimitedto:

(1)a solid understanding about the literature, issues, and uses of blended and personalized learning in EC-12 classroom instruction and teacher education

(2)a broad understanding about the literature and issues relevanttopreserviceteachereducation,professionaldevelopmentatschoollevels, andteacher inductionprograms

(3)a competencetodevelopandteach face-to-face,blended,andonline graduatelevelcoursesinteachereducation and qualitative research methods course in the fields of teaching and teacher education;

(4)a strongworking experienceinateachereducation,professionaldevelopment,and/orteacher inductionprograms;

(5)agreatpotentialtoconductresearchinteachereducationusingvarious quantitative and mixed method research methodologies;

(6)a solidexperienceworkingwithhigh-needstudentpopulationsandfirstgenerationstudents;

(7)a strongexperienceworkingasanactivecollaboratorand apotentialleaderinteamworkwithinaninstitutionand/oracrossdifferentinstitutionsdomesticallyandinternationally;and

(8)atrackrecordofserviceforlocal,national,and/orinternationalprofessionalorganizationsandagencies.

Responsibilities:

(1)developandteachgraduateteachereducationcourses, blended and personalized learning courses,and qualitative research method courses thatfostergraduatestudents'conceptualunderstandingandmeasurableskills-specificallyinface-to-face,online,andblendedformats;

(2)conductandpublishpeerrefereedresearch thatmeaningfullycontributestotheimprovementofpolicy,program,andpracticeandtheteachereducationorcloselyrelatedfields;

(3)involve,support,andsupervisestudentsinconductingresearchandprofessionalpracticesinamannerthatpromotestheirsynthesisandapplicationoftheirknowledgeandskillsdevelopedintheprogramstudies;

(4)serveasachairandmemberforstudentprogramandthesiscommittee,anddirecttheirresearchwork;

(5)applyfor,obtain,andmanageexternalfundingto supportresearchandtheimprovementofprofessionalpractice;

(6)offerserviceatdepartment, college, anduniversitylevels;

(7)contributetotheadvancementofspecializationandprogramgoalsthroughvariouskindsofprofessional service;and

(8)partnerwithschoolsand/orprofessionalorganizationsandagenciestoensuremeaningful,collaborativeresearch,teaching,andpractice.

TheCollegeofEducationatTexasTechUniversityiscomprisedoftheDepartmentofCun1culum andInstruction,theDepartmentofEducationalPsychologyandLeadership,andtheDepartmentofTeacherEducation.TheCollegeof Educationhouses11graduateprogramsbetweenthethreedepartmentsthatpreparebothappliedandbasicresearcherswhopossesstheskillstoworkwithdiversepopulations.TexasTechUniversity,amemberoftheBig12Conference,is locatedinLubbock,Texas(population260,000).TexasTechUniversityisacomprehensive universitywithanenrollmentofover35,000andistheonlycampusinTexaswhereboththelawschoolandmedicalschoolarehousedatthesamelocation.TheUniversityhasawiderangeofundergraduateandgraduate NCATE/CAEaccreditedprograms.
