The Jennie and Drew Berryessa Family Letter:

Hello all you Gwillys, Baums, Berryessas, and Dixons-

It is our turn to write a letter and share some of our life with yall, sorry that this is the first time we have done this, but it sounds like fun. Its like going down the steep waterslides at Lagoon, you are scared to do it at first, but once you go down-you just keep on doing it again and again, until finally your boss has to pull you into his office (suspicious of how manydogs one person can have die on them)because of all the work you are missing because you are gone at lagoon. So buckle up! here we go!

Jennie Lee Hall and Drew Manly Berryessa met on a brisk November afternoon while working in Magna, Utah. Instantly Drew's heart began to pitter-patter the sounds of the Star-Spangled Banner; it was only a few more days until he would make the single most important decision of his life. It was a Saturday night at about midnight when young Jennie Hallmade a wrong turn, on her way to clock out, into the main office where Drew was sitting, preparing for the long graveyard shift ahead. Overwhelmed by her unmatchable beauty, Drew spewed the first words that came to his mind, “Jennie, why don’t you stay and hang out with me tonight, ya know, have a slumber party?” Already aware of how ridiculous the offer he had just extended to the beautiful Jennie, Drew’s mind went blank; his hearing was overcome by the vibrating sounds of IOBR (immediate over-zealous brain retardation) which sounded like the microwaves at 7-11. Jennie responded almost as quick as Drew’s initial offer, “I don’t think so. I have church early in the morning down in Provo.” Of course, Drew couldn’t hear what she said because of the loud buzzing sound in his brain, but he could pretty much assume that the answer was “no.” You see Drew, although a little over-zealous, was wise to the workings of the woman mind; and he knew that inviting a co-worker to hang out with you all night while you worked a graveyard was more of 2nd date than a 1st.

“So then we’ll go to the fireside together tomorrow night, in Provo?” Bolted out of Drew’s mouth, and immediately he pictured himself, in his head, standing in front of another him giving “bones” to himself for the sly manner in which he had just scored a date with Jennie. “No” Jennie said, “I have to be back here at three o’clock tomorrow to work.” Luckily this time Drew caught himself from saying the first thing that came to his mind (“Perfect! If you’re going to be up here anyway, why don’t you just stay and hang out with me here, and you can come to my ward in the morning. I have clothes for you.”), and instead casually said “Oh, I bet you work on Monday too, or else I would ask you if I could treat you that Work and the Glory movie. I am going to be down in Provo on Monday.” There he had done it! Drew had found Jennie’s weakness. Jennie was a sucker for The Work and the Glory movies. Without any more excuses, Jennie gave into the garlic-breath and ill composure of Drew and they have lived happily ever after.

So really, here’s what is going on the Drew and Jennie Berryessa Family:

Jennie:Jennie is working as a Juvenile Probation Officer in WestValleyCity. It has really opened her eyes to how crazy and ‘just like the movies’ life can be…even here in Utah. There are a lot of sad stories and situations that she deals with, but she does really well with the kids. She has a few cases that have some light at the end of the tunnel. It is scary to think that sometimes God prepares families for their children…will that be our children?

As if keeping track of all the troubled teens in WVC didn’t keep Jennie busy enough, she is in her Masters program for High School Counseling at UtahStateUniversity (her classes are held in Kaysville at an extension center one night a week for 6 hours).

I know, but what does Jennie do to keep herself busy? Oh, she coaches Club Soccer. She has just started last week coaching a club team, Impact Soccer. She coaches the 11 year old boys (for now, in June she will coach and raise her own team starting at 11 year old girls). They have played one game and lost, 2-1. The team is really good and there are 3 kids all with the name Jack.

She also plays on a team; this will be her 3rd season with this team of “mommies” who play down in Lehi every Saturday. It is a mommies league with about 8 different teams, but every year it boils down to two teams, the same two teams, for the championship…and Jennie’s team took it last year. Her season will start on April 14th, but we will be in St. George for her the Columbus, Ohio Mission Reunion.

US:Jennie got me all excited to do a triathlon this summer. There are tons of them all over the state, but because we don’t swim real well we are going to do the baby size one and go up from there. So even though our blubber might hide it, we are working out.

We are both a little bit skeptical about putting our trust into NCAA teams; seeing as how the Ohio State Buckeyes can’t clinch a championship over Florida, and the Cougars buckle in the end of every important game. But at least our teams have coaches, we are thankful for that.

We are living in Holladay, right off Murray-Holladay BLVD and Highland Drive. Our address is 4878 Highland Circle #6, Holladay, UT84117 if you were wondering…for any wedding invites or just to send money and chocolates.

We are going to Moab this weekend to camp and mountain bike. I guess it is pretty big weekend for the Jeep Rock Crawling competition too, maybe we will take the Honda for spin up the rocks.

Drew:I am finishing up at SLCC (I guess that 9 semesters is actually pretty average for an Associate Degree) and am waiting to hear back from God’s school, right Cole?! I hope to go into their business management program for Organizational Business/Human Resources. I am working at Investools Inc. in the HR dept as an HR Assistant. It is an Investor Education company.

I pretty much just try to keep on top of my homework and job, I am looking for a soccer team to play on…but I guess that RealSaltLake is all full. I just got my hair cut. I like the color blue. Welp, that is about all.

Thanks for reading. Have a great weekend. We love you! Good luck in any Sports, jobs, trips, surgeries, court appearances, etc.

Love,

Jennie and Drew Berryessa
