PROJECT ROADTRIP:
European Vacation!!!
Purpose: To learn about the countries of Europe, and increase creative writing skills.
Goal: To create a Road Trip Journal, cataloging your “journey” across Europe, complete with unique journal entries and drawings.
Materials: Blank Road Trip Journal
Blank Map of Europe
Books and internet resources about European countries
Pen,pencil, map pencils, markers, etc.
Your imagination
Important Dates: Project Begins on November 16, In class work day is November 20, it is DUE on December 8, 2015.
Instructions:
1)At the top of this page, write your starting country and destination country.
2)On your blank map of Europe, “map” out the route you will be taking on your trip to your destination. You MUST cross through a minimum of 5 countries to pass, or up to 8 for the maximum number of points.
3)Get a non-fiction book, or find a website about one of the countries you will be “traveling” through, and start looking for interesting facts and information that you might discover on your “trip”.
4)You MUST write ten (10) journal entries about your travels.
5)Your journal entries must each be at least onefull paragraph in length, with no less then five (5) sentences per paragraph.
6)Each journal entry must be accompanied by an illustration of some kind. I am not looking for artistry in the illustrations, simply your own personal touch on the project.
7)On the back of the last page, you must do a bibliography sheet, indicating the books and websites you used as a reference. Remember, NO PLAGIARISM!!!
8)Before handing in your journal, be sure you decorate the front cover.
9)Be CREATIVE in what you do with this. I look forward to seeing each of your individual personalities in your projects. You will only receive ONE class day to work on this project. All other work is to be done outside of class. You may work at home and during Skills time. The class time allotted for this project is NOT to be used for anything else.
