Howdy folks!

Greetings from Theta Epsilon, at the University of Kentucky! We’re finally reaching the end of what’s been one of the most exciting years in recent history. From the first football game of the fall to the last basketball game in the spring (both of which seemed to come all-to soon!) it has been a wild ride.

First, our football team, coming off one of their most successful seasons ever, took us all to Florida over the Winter Break! All I can say about that is: “Hilton Beachfront Resort, New Year’s on the beach, all expenses paid!”

Unfortunately, our men’s basketball team seemed to suffer a down year, only making it to the “Elite Eight” of the NCAA tournament. This was more than offset, however, by the knowledge that a) our women’s team made it to the tournament for the first time in many years, taking several Brothers on a fun-filled trip to Los Angeles, and b) that our men’s team will be back in the Final Four where they belong, next year!

But Theta Epsilon is not JUST about travelling with the athletic teams. We have also recently completed a FEW service projects, including:

- Cleaning our Band Room for the first time in many years, a major undertaking

- Repainting Drum Major ladders

- Lining Stoll Field (the Marching Band rehearsal site)

- Providing refreshments to visiting bands

- Loading and unloading our equipment truck one million times in Tampa

- Several blood drives in the College of Fine Arts

- Assisting with Band Scholarship auditions

- Completing the Marching Band Video

Overall, the chapter focused on doing many service projects. We also have at present, our first-ever female prospective members.

In addition, Theta Epsilon hopes to begin a new project working with Southwind ,a local Drum and Bugle Corps. Our chapter will become responsible for providing meals at their camps and will run the priciple concessions stand at a local DCI competition. This promises to become a great relationship.

Throughout this year we have also drafted an updated version of our chapter constitution. We are also in the process of revamping our entire Membership Education Program in order to incorporate a more in-depth continuing education process in keeping with National Guidelines.

Respectfully submitted,
