MEET INFO:The 2015 USA Swimming Rules will govern ALL of the swim meet com-petition. ALL entries MUST have 2015 USA registration numbers on the entry forms. Entry age will be the age of the swimmer as of Thurs-day, March 12, 2015! Swimmers 11 & older MAY enter any individual eventsBUT may only compete in three (3) individual events per day. Swimmers competing in the “08-UN & 09-10 Age Groups” are limited to five (5) individual events per day.

For the 11-older age groups, once the psych sheet has been posted, a swimmer will not be permitted to enter additional events on any day if the swimmer has already entered three (3) or more events for that day. Additionally, if a swimmer has entered less than three (3) events on any given day, the swimmer may enter additional events up to the maximum of three (3) events per day.

Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimmingmember coach as being proficient in performing a racing start ormuststart each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a USA Swimming membercoach, it is the responsibility of the swimmeror the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.

NOTICE: No time (NT) entries will only be permitted for the 13-OV age group and events 200 or longer. If a 12-UN swimmer is entered in any event with “NT,” the entry WILL NOT be accepted!!!

NOTICE: ALL entries must be submitted with “proof of time” format via HY*TEK entry process. If a swimmer is entered in any event without “proof of time,” the entry WILL NOT be accepted!!!

NO entrant will be permitted to compete unless the entrant is a member as provided in Article 302. On-deck entries will be permitted but, unless already entered in the meet, the entrant must show proof of membership pursuant to Article 302.

NO electronic device capable of taking pictures or recoding video permitted in any locker/changing room throughout Cam Henderson Center during the meet.

NO deck changing permitted in any area except designated locker rooms; rest rooms/areas or designated changing areas as provided by the meet host or facility.

Athletes with disabilities are welcome to compete and shall provide advance notification to the Meet Referee of their desired accom-modations.

During prelims only, 11-older events may utilize “fly-over” starts to minimize time between heats.

Heat sheets will be available for $10.00 for the entire meet (prelims

& finals).

MEET INFODeck passes will be issued to back-up timers & other meet workers to

(CONT):obtain access to the pool deck area. All other non-swimmers; non-meet

officials and non-meet workers will not be permitted on the deckof

the pool at any time.

ENTRY Entries MUST BE RECEIVED on or before 11:59PM onTUESDAY,MARCH 03RD,

DEADLINE:2015! Entries that are received after Tuesday, March 03rd{or when the

psych sheet has been posted} will be considered as “late entries” and

will be seeded in the first heats. Entries that are received after

12:01AM on Thursday, March 12thOR during the swim meet will be

considered as “deck entries” and subject to the “deck entry fees” of

$10.00 per individual entry and $20.00 per relay entry. ALL“deck

entries” will be seeded in the first heats.

MEETALL Meet Directors; Meet Referees; Meet Officials, including starters

OFFICIALS:& stroke and turn judges serving in an official capacity must be mem-

bers of USA Swimming or other FINA-member organization.

All appropriately certified USA swimming officials are welcome and

encouraged to participate in the meet. Official briefings will be

held 45 minutes prior to the start of each session in the classroom

near the hospitality area.

opportunity. Observation can be conducted for all N2 certifications

COACH/There will be a Coach and/or Team Rep Meeting on Friday, March 13th

or Meet Referee. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss any changes in the swim meet format as printed in this packet or anychanges/alterations in the rules as published by USA Swimming. If a swim team coach and/or team rep does not attend this meeting, they will forfeit their right to voice their opinion or vote upon matters discussed.

FINAL HYCAT @ Charleston, Inc Swimming Program will furnish free of charge RESULTS: one (1) copy of the FINAL MEET RESULTS to each swim team entered in

the meet. The results will be sent to the address listed on the

entry form for the meet. In the case of more than one address, the

results will be sent to the first entries received. Additional

copies may be ordered during the swim meet at the HYCAT Swimming

Office located near the entrance to the UC swimming pool at $10.00

per copy. PLEASE ALLOW AT LEAST 2-3 WEEKS FOR DELIVERY = THANK

POOL The swimming pool is located in the Cam Henderson Center which is

LOCATION: located on 18th Street & 3rd Avenue. There is usually plenty of

parking available immediately in front of the Cam Henderson Center

or in the parking garage located across the street.

CONDUCT: Any destruction of property during the swimming meet will result in

the immediate “DISQUALIFICATION AND REMOVAL” of the swimmer and/or spectator/guest from the meet AND meet area. The swimming clubs will be held responsible for the behavior of their swimmers,

parents, guests and coaches!!! Also, a USA registered/certified

coach MUST be present and “on deck” of the pool during the “warm-up”

periods!!! If you are attending the meet as an “individual entry”

from your team OR your team is not sending a coach, please report

to the Meet Referee for your lane assignment during the “warm-ups.”

WARM-UP The following warm-up procedures have been established by the West

PROCEDURES: West Virginia LSC and will be used during the swimming meet. The

Meet Director and/or Meet Referee may modify the warm-up procedures

in the best interest of the swimmers who have entered this meet. The meet host will notify the swim teams of any changes via a letter and/or telephone call to the swim coach and/or team rep. Meet Mar-shalls and the swimmer's USA registered/certified coach will be responsible for maintaining the “proper” warm-up procedures as out-

lined below.

BEGINNING OF THE WARM-UP PERIOD

** ALL lanes general warm-up ONLY

** circle swimming as indicated in meet program

** NO diving into water {feet first entry ONLY}

** entry from the turn end of the pool {scoreboard end}

** NO equipment permitted

LAST 15 {13-OV}/10 {12-UN} MINUTES OF THE SCHEDULED WARM-UP PERIOD

** ALL lanes general warm-up except as noted below:

** dive starts from the starting end of the pool {bulkhead end}

providing the lane is clear and a certified coach is super-

vising & swimmer must exit the pool from the turn end of the

pool

** pace lane may be used providing a certified coach is super-

vising the swimmers

SCRATCH This meet will follow USA Rules governing “scratches” plus the fol-

PROCEDURES: lowing West Virginia LSC procedures for individual and relay events

as listed below or continued on page #6.

[1] Individual swimmers who do not indicate to the Clerk of Course

directly or by sign-in procedure that they intend to compete in

a timed final heat shall not be penalized. This shall not count

as a swum event.

[2] Individual swimmers who indicate to the Clerk of Course directly

or by sign-in procedure that they intend to compete, but fail to

compete, are “disqualified” from the event. This does count as

a swum event.

Additionally, the swimmer shall only be permitted to swim his/ her next scheduled individual event “EXHIBITION.” This also counts as a swum event.

[3] Exceptions / NO penalty if:

[A] the Meet Referee is notified and accepts a case of injury

and/or illness; OR

[B] it is determined by the Meet Referee that circumstances

beyond the control of the swimmer(s) prohibited competing in

an event(s); OR

[C] in the case of a relay, only those swimmers reporting and

ready to swim shall not be penalized

SCRATCHThe “30 minute scratch notification” rule will be adhered to for those

PROCEDURESevents that are being conducted as “prelims” & “finals.” The swimmer

(CONT):MUST notify the Announcer’s table of their “intent to scratch” after

each event has been announced; and inform the Announcer’s table NO

MORE 30 minutes upon the completion of that session. Failure to

properly “scratch” an event (or events) will result in the swimmer

being disqualified from the remainder of the swim meet, including ALL

future preliminary heats.

MEET INFO8-UN and 9-10 individual event winners (1st place) will be recognized

(AWARDS):prior to the start of the prelims the next day AND after the conclu-sion of the prelims on Sunday. All other events (1st-3rd places) will be recognized during the final session as determined by the meet host.

SOUTHERNThe Southern Zone Selection process has been posted on the WV LSC web

ZONEsite. PLEASE check the information posted. Registration for the Zone

SELECTIONTeam MUSTbe completed at the WV State Meet no later than Sun, Mar

PROCESS:15th. Selection based upon the swimmer’s times performed at the WV
