Drum Circle: Tomorrow (Friday, March 21) is our Drum Circle/African drum presentation with Dan and Pam Susany of Lisbon. Parents/caregivers are invited (adults only) to this at 2:05 p.m. in our Multi-Purpose Room.
We have been practicing our drum skills with our own handmade drums. As Dan says “it is all about listening.” If you attend, would you stop by our room at the end of the presentation to take your child’s drum home. Thank You!
If you are unable to attend, your child will be bringing their drum home on the bus.
Grandparents Breakfast: Grandparents are invited to eat Breakfast with your Kindergarten grandchild on Monday, April 14. Registration forms will be sent home in the future.
Book It (Pizza Hut Reading Program: March is the last month for this program. I will accept the completed and signed reading sheets until April 11th. If you have lost or if you did not get a coupon for February or March-and if your child read the books)—please let me know and I will send a coupon home with your child. 3-D Shapes: This 9-weeks we have been working on “Identifying and Drawing 3-D Shapes: Sphere, Cube, Cylinder,Cube and Rectangular Prism.” Would you help with this skill at home by trying to find real objects that are shaped like these? We are using these words to describe 3-D shapes: they are fat not flat (flat shapes are circles, squares, triangles, etc.). In math terms 3-D shapes are solids, and have corners (points) and faces(flat surfaces). Wow….there are a lot of words/skills! Please use the attached lists of real objects, a poem and “chants” that we will are saying in class. Thanks for your help.

Sight Words (Rainbow Words): I will not test your child’s sight words the week of March 25. The next “checking” time will be on Wednesday, April 1.
