RACE FOR EDUCATION (RFE) 2017 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND HELPFUL LINKS:

When and where is it the Race for Education? October 7, 2017 at 3pm at the East High School’s Track, 1600 City Park Esplanade, Denver CO 80206. Please make sure that you arrive on time and find your child’s grade or class. Look for banners either showing their grade (K-8) or their class in preschool.

Who participates? Preschool through 8th grade!

What do the students wear? Wear their RFE t-shirt! We are aiming for the students to take home their t-shirts on Friday, October 6th. If your child is not present on Friday, we will have their t-shirt at the RFE Registration Table to pick up on Saturday October 7. Also, they should wear comfortable athletic clothing. Parents, family, friends and alumni are encouraged to wear BSCS t-shirts as well to support our students. Don’t forget your water bottles!

Who can attend? Friends, family, parishioners, neighbors and alumni! It’s a BSCS Community Event!

What is our fundraising goal? $55,000

How much did we raise last year? $46,000

What is our family’s fundraising goal for the school year? Your family’s fundraising goal for BSCS is $450 ($250 for new or single parent families) during the year. Any funds raised during our RFE fundraiser applies towards your family’s fundraising goal. We ask that you be as generous as you are able in both your time and investment! With the success of the 2016 RFE, we carried over the same $135/student fundraising request. This amount is a guidepost to help us reach $55,000 for this year. It is not expected that parents donate this amount per child, but rather a goal to strive towards as you ask family and friends to consider donating to our fundraiser.

What are we raising money to improve? In addition to the funds supporting teachers and student initiatives, incentives and events at our school, we plan on using a significant portion of the funds raised towards new Elkay ezH2O Bottle Filling Stations. Our hope is to have at least one new fountain on every floor of each school building. Please see the letter included in your RFE packet that was sent home in backpacks the week of September 5, 2017. The same information has been included in the Blue & Gold eNewsletter each week.
