1. Today, you’re going to go out on the internet and find magazine covers to use as examples for the designing process next week. You will have today to complete this assignment. DO NOT RUSH THROUGH THIS ASSIGNMENT! If you are really analyzing and looking at the covers it should take you the majority of the class period to complete find the covers and then another class period to put the ppt together. If it doesn’t, then I’ll know you rushed through it and your grade will reflect that.
  2. Open PowerPoint.
  3. Click File/Save As. Save your PowerPoint in your BIMM folder as Magazines.
  4. Go to the internet. Use various search engines and websites to find fifteen magazinecovers. These covers need to have school appropriate information on them and need to have a layout or design that you like.
  5. Some things to look for on the magazine cover are: colors, layout, fonts, the way the picture was posed, unique effects on the cover, or the headlines or news stories.
  6. Some things not to look for on the magazine covers are: hot girls, cool cars, etc.
  7. When you find a magazine cover that has something you would like to use to help you create your own next week, save it in your BIMM Folder.
  8. Once you’ve found your fifteen magazine covers follow the directions below to create your Presentation.
  9. FYI: Solid reasons would include liking the colors, layout, picture aspects, a headline, etc.
  10. A solid reason is not that the girl is hot on the cover or that the car is the most amazing thing EVER!!!
  11. When you’ve finished you’re presentation, save your file.
  12. Click File/Print. Change Print What to Handouts. Change Slides per Page to 6. Click OK.
