***Debut Single ‘Breathe’ set for release October 13th on the new Albert Productions rock label***

“ONES TO WATCH - This London four piece have made one of the rock debuts of the year” – James Roberts, Music Week, 12th July 2003.

“CHECK EM OUT:– Despite their name, they are, indeed far from happy. Opener ‘Breathe’ is an angsty fusion of Placebo riffing and big, crashing Trust Company choruses with cool Linkin Park fucked up bits. ‘The Way You Hate Me’ is more of the same, with epic radio rock leanings, while ‘Alive’ is an acoustic ballad with distinct Feederisms. This is good shit!’ - 8/10 – Daniel Lane, Metal Hammer, reviewing a happylife demo, Jan. 2003.

SOME bands deliver brilliant live shows but don’t cut the mustard in the studio. SOME bands carve out excellence in the studio through sheer bloody mindedness, talent and graft but can’t cut it live, while others stumble inadvertently into the limelight, prepared or otherwise…and then there are rare jewels in the crown, who not only deliver all of the above and more…Welcome to happylife, a new British four piece gifted with an unnerving and innate talent for simply writing BRILLIANT songs and performing them live with gut wrenching conviction. For happylife, it’s the pyramids, or they simply aren’t…happy!

New, exciting and awesomely tight, this act from West London release their debut UK single ‘BREATHE’ on the newly formed UK rock label Albert Productions, on October 13th. Marketed and distributed by Vital, ‘BREATHE’ will be released as both an enhanced 4-track CD and limited edition 7” vinyl single. The CD tracklisting is:- (1) ‘Breathe’, (2) ‘Stand Up’, (3) ‘Breathe (Instrumental)’ (4) Video - ‘Breathe’.

Formed in 2001 the band comprise Kevin Brown, (vocals and guitar), IanPellman (guitar), Chris Drinkwater (Bass), and Rupert Mann (drums). Their original inspirations include a common hate of manufactured pop, a love of harder edged 90's bands such as Alice In Chains and Soundgarden, 80's synth pop, and a large dose of classic artists such as Hendrix, The Jam, The Doors, U2 and the Stones.

In 2002 legendary US producer Narada Michael Walden flew from LA to London within days of hearing the demos and insisting on producing material for happylife. The eponymous debut album is now finished and with other producers such as John Jacobs, Paul Hoare and James Cassidy at the helm, this self-titled debut is set to explode after a number of single releases, the first of which is ‘BREATHE’.

happylife are a truly great 'organic' rock band whose instinctive feel for melody and musical light and shade is amply demonstrated by the abundance of incredible, soaring, dark, cutting edge songs already under their very talented belts. Their 'from the gut' instinctive approach, coupled with an addiction to dark, dynamic, soaring melodies, gives their music an edge which should dominate the radio airwaves for years to come.
