Bodywork sessions with Ram Charan
At
Bikram West Yoga Studio
15th, 16th, 24th June - 16th July, 2007
Ram Charan had his initial Reiki initiation in 1985 and studied Swedish massage in 1986. An interest in meditation, consciousness exploration, and healing took him to India in 1989 and he has since spent the majority of his time there. In India he has been particularly influenced by the traditions of Advaita (non-duality) and Bhakti (devotional) Yoga.
In 2003-2004 he completed certification training in Craniosacral Balancing from the International Institute of Craniosacral Balancing. He is also trained in Ayur-balancing massage from the Rasovai Institute in Goa, India. He is a third-degree Reiki practitioner and has studied subtle energy work from several sources.
His sessions are an ever-evolving exploration into the alchemical relationships between consciousness, energy, and the human form.
Biodynamic Craniosacral Balancing is a subtle, non-invasive, highly effective hands-on healing technique which stimulates the body´s inherent self-healing and self-correcting capacity. Craniosacral work reaches physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual levels through its subtlety and depth, bringing awareness and healing to the whole person.
Examples of conditions in which craniosacral work can help are:
· muscle and joint pain · depression and fatigue
· back pain, spinal misalignments · recovery from illness, surgery, or accidents
· headaches · relaxation and stress reduction
· recovery from physical and emotional shocks · alleviation of general discomfort
· balancing of immune and endocrine systems
People who practice sports, yoga, martial arts, etc., can benefit from Craniosacral Balancing in terms of increased flexibility, flow, and overall body awareness. Craniosacral work is also helpful as an aid to personal growth and in connecting with deeper states of consciousness.
Ayur - Balancing Massage combines time-tested techniques of ayurvedic massage, perfected in India over thousands of years, with a deep-tissue focus which helps to release toxins and tension from muscles and other tissues. After oil application, each part of the body is worked in progressively deeper layers. The therapist uses palms, fists, arms, and elbows. The client receives all the benefits of deep-tissue work without undue discomfort.
Ayur - Balancing massage is deeply relaxing, improves circulation of blood and lymph, and benefits the immune system. It helps to detoxify, tonify and rejuvenate the entire system.
Sessions can be either one or a combination of these bodywork techniques. Session time is 60-70 minutes. Session fee is £50. For more information or to book a session please call Nighean, West Studio Manager or speak to anyone on Reception there, on (020) 8960 9644.
“I have had much body work in my life, and can say that Ram is a rare and exceptional therapist, and his Cranial Sacral work is far beyond anything I have come across before. He has taken it to a spiritual level and an intensity and sensitivity I have not experienced before. His Deep Tissue work is also delicious! His knowledge, depth and sensitivity are amazing. Ram expressed how impressed he was with the sensitivity of the Bikram Yoga Students he worked on, and is keen to work with us again, as he said we had an openness and receptivity that was uncommon.” Michele Pernetta
