1. A. Social Emotional Development Of The New Millennium Child
Shawn Brown and Sheryl BrownSTAFF & MANAGAMENT
*SPONSORED BY SILVER LEVEL SPONSOR, MYCHILD*
Attendees will become more cognizant of the vital role they play in assisting in properly developing and nurturing socio-emotional skills in their children. The attendees will gain a better understanding how technology, single parent household, grandparents becoming the primary caregiver, just to name a few are having a significant impact on the socio-emotional development of this generation.
Today’s children are desperately in need of intellectual skills, motivational qualities and socio-emotional skills in order to succeed in school. It is imperative that children understand the following: 1) understanding the feelings of others; 2) controlling one’s emotions and behaviors; 3) getting along with peers and teachers; 4) following directions; 5) displaying self-control; and, 6) staying focused.
The participants in this training will learn how to create a socio-emotional “friendly” environment through specific music and activities that meet the children at their current level.

Working with children and families of diverse populations can prove challenging. Early childhood centers have a responsibility to ensure that every child’s needs are met and this includes children of different racial, ethnic, or religious backgrounds. Administrators can help by ensuring that their policies and procedures are outlined clearly and concisely, but teachers and staff can also remain flexible and open to new cultures and traditions other than their own. Being sensitive to the needs of others is necessary for the success of centers in a multicultural society.
1. E. Maximizing The Value Of Your Educational Business
Kathy LigonMANAGEMENT
It’s not just a valuable service, its business! Much time, energy, and care goes in to developing and managing a business and the financial rewards should reflect it.
