Re: Y4 Kingswood Trip
As in previous years, we are planning a Year 4 residential trip to Kingswood, an educational activity centre in Overstrand, Norfolk. The trip will take place from Wednesday 17th May to Friday 19th May 2017. We will be leaving at 10.30am on the Wednesday, and returning on the Friday afternoon. Kingswood offer a fantastic range of activities including a variety of outdoor adventure pursuits, environmental studies (including a beach exploration!) and ICT programmes all of which are not only linked with the curriculum, but are confidence-building and great fun! A residential trip is an invaluable experience for the children and develops independence, responsibility, friendship and team work.
We will be travelling by coach and, once there, will remain on-site except for the beach exploration which requires a short journey, also by coach. All activities (day and evening), accommodation, food (except lunch on Wednesday) and coach travel are included in the price.
The estimated cost of the trip is £175.00 per child. We are asking for a non-refundable deposit of £75.00 by Friday 11th October which is required by the centre to guarantee our booking. Payments can be made via schoolcoms or by cheque payable to Applecroft School. It will be possible to pay the rest of the balance in one payment or in instalments as laid out below. Please speak to a member of the office staff if you have any concerns over payments. If we do not receive enough contributions then the trip will be cancelled.
Please note, if a child’s behaviour leading up to the trip is inappropriate then a decision will be made by the teacher and Senior Leadership Team that may result in the child being withdrawn from the school journey.
We will hold a meeting for parents and carers and provide a more detailed itinerary and kit list closer to the time.
