1  RULES

1.1  The event will be governed by the IC30A bylaws and class specifications which can be found at www.catalina30.com/organization/bylaws.htm

1.2  The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012 (RRS), IC30A Constitution, bylaws, this NOR and the Sailing Instructions.

1.2.1  If there are not at least three boats of the Standard Rig (SR) and Tall Rig with Bowsprit (TBS) divisions they will be combined using handicaps. (Per RRS 87 this Modifies IC30A Bylaw IV A.). The C309 and C315 will race as part of the C30 handicap class.

1.2.2  C30 boats sailing in the Spinnaker and Jib & Main racing divisions are intended to race as a one design class and shall submit a current IC30A certificate of measurement or have a certificate created by undergoing measurements.

1.3  Boats sailing in handicap classes shall race according to Catalina 30 handicaps listed in Appendix I of the bylaws or local PHRF ratings assigned at the discretion of the RC in conjunction with the IC30 board of directors.

2  ADVERTISING

2.1 Boats shall display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority. All other advertising will be restricted. (See ISAF Regulation 20).

3  ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

3.1  The regatta is open to all boats of the Catalina 30, 309 & 315 classes whose registered skipper is a member in good standing of the International Catalina 30 Association.

3.2  International Catalina 30 Association membership applications are available at www.catalina30.com and will be available at the check-in desk prior to the Regatta.

3.3  Eligible boats may enter by completing the attached entry form and sending it, together with the required fee, to The Clinton River Catalina Association at 845 River Bend Drive, Rochester Hills Mi. 48307, by Ju1y 15th, 2012.

3.4  Late entries will be accepted up to August 16th, by payment of an additional $10.00 late fee.

4  SAILOR CLASSIFICATION

All skippers and crew will comply with IC30A By-law V.N as interpreted by ISAF Code 22 Sailor Classification Code. (See Rule 79.)

5  FEES

5.1  Entry fee for this regatta will be $135.00 per boat for non USSA members and $125.00 for USSA members per boat. Click for Entry Form

5.2  Membership fees for the respective associations are not included in the regatta entry fee.

5.3 Dockage assignments will be made with Claudia Drummond club Manager 586-463-2192 or Fleet Captain Chris Gerkin 313-549-2054 of North Star Sail Club .

6  SCHEDULE

6.1  Registration & Measuring: Thursday, August 16thrd, 2012 1:00PM to 8:00PM and Friday, August 17th, 2012 8:00AM to noon at North Star Sail Club. Early measurement by appointment is encouraged.

6.2  Skippers Meeting on Friday, August 17th, 2012, 1:00 PM. The Skipper Meeting for Saturday and Sunday is 9:30 AM at North Star Sail Cub

6.3  Friday August. 17th, 2012 - race 1 and 2

Saturday, August 18th, 2012 - race 3, 4 and 5

Sunday, August 19th, 2012 - race 6

6.4  The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race Friday is 3:00 PM

6.5  The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race Saturday and Sunday is 11:00 AM

7  MEASUREMENTS

7.1  Catalina 30 boats in the Spinnaker and Jib & Main racing divisions shall produce a current IC30A Certificate of Measurement or have a certificate created by being measured. Sails shall be measured and stamped by the Fleet Measurer. The RC and IC30 board shall assign boats racing in the non-spinnaker handicap fleet or in the C309 fleet with a rating based on the hull/sail characteristics as defined by IC30A Bylaws IV D and Appendix I, local PHRF data and DRYA adjustments.

8  SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

The sailing instructions will be available after 12:00 on, July 16th, 2012 on the Clinton River Catalina Club website: http://crcasail.org/ S.I.’s will also be available at the skippers meeting.

9  VENUE

Races will be sailed on Lake St. Clair’s Anchor Bay. The center of the racing area is located at

42° 37.9¢N - 082° 44.9¢W 2.5 nautical miles @ 20° mag. from Clinton river outer buoy “G5”. All classes will be windward leeward legs.

10  PRIZES

10.1  A national champion will be declared within each class that starts.

10.2  A Catalina 30 National Championship Regatta Perpetual Trophy will be awarded to the skipper of the winning boat in each C30 class.

10.3  Skippers will be awarded trophies for first, second, and third places in those classes with five or more entrants.

11  DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. (See rule 4, Decision to Race.) The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

12  INSURANCE

Each participating boat shall be adequately insured with valid third-party liability insurance.
