Charter of Principles
The Satisfeito is a global movement that facilitates transforming encounter of consumers, restaurants and social organizations to combat hunger and food waste in the world.
The Satisfeitoobjective is to be a free online platform that allows this joint effort assisting the implementation of a very simple idea: the prevention of food waste by offering in the menu plates 1/3 smaller or options or custom options that avoid food waste. The consumer can opt for this this "new" dish and the resulting money difference is donated by the consumer, through the restaurant, for Satisfeitothat fully allocate the amount received to organizations that feeds hungry children.
The Satisfeito believes the reduction of the plate size will enable not only the decrease of wasted food, but the awakening of the people to eat consciously and without excesses engaging people about solidarity.
Besides this practical solution and easy adoption by many restaurants, we encourage the creation of other alternatives that fit the needs and availability of each restaurant and its peculiarities.
Several different solutions for implementing Satisfeito are already used successfully, including: creating new dishes with full use of food, reduction of items that make up the "executive menu" or custom creations by the chefs.
Regardless of the option chosen, Satisfeito works with transparency clearly demonstrating theallocation of money to social organizations for anyone interested.
The Satisfeito allows restaurants to register freely and to be part of the initiative assisting the implementation of technical processes by 'SatisfeitoImplementation Guide'.
The Satisfeito informs all interested actors, participating restaurants and social organizations the contribution of each of them.
The Satisfeito want to engage as many consumers and restaurants to be able to feed as many children as possible and maximally reduce food waste.
To engage consumers, restaurants and social organizations they must be committed to act with integrity, transparency and honesty; comply with current legislation in your country of origin, and agree with the principles of Satisfeito listed below:
Consumers:
Have the right to: (i) choose a dish from the menu that is flagged orhighlighted asSatisfeito; (ii) know the destination of the money that was donated to the Satisfeito; and (iii) have information about the participating social organizations. Must (i)report any irregularity observed to competent authorities(ii) accept that your plate has reduced one third of the original size or equivalent solution adopted by the restaurant for waste reduction.
Restaurants:
Have the right to: (i) to know the destination of the money donated by consumers that restaurants have passed on to Alana Institute; (ii) make a direct donation to the Institute Alana; (iii) know the destination of the money donated to Alana Institute in addition to amounts donated by its customers; and (iv) have information about the participating social organizations. Must: (i) fully pass the money donated by consumers to Alana Institute; (ii) comply with the 'Satisfeito Implementation Guideline'; and (iii) report any irregularity observed to competent authorities.
Social Organizations:
Have the right to know the destination of the money donated by consumers to Alana Institute through transfer of participating restaurants. Must (i) use the money they receive from the Alana Institute (represented by Satisfeito Project) exclusively to feed the attending children; (ii) publicly disclose what is your allocation of money; and (iii)report any irregularity observed to competent authorities.
Satisfeito:
Has the right to (i) withdraw restaurants or social organizations of Satisfeito online platform and prevent the use of its mark once proven illegality or breach of the principles of Satisfeito and 'Satisfeito Implementation Guidelines'; (ii) require the restaurants information about giving consumers; and (iii) require information from social organizations about the allocation of resources that have been donated to them. Should: (i) ensure the maintenance of the online platform and report any changes with reasonable notice; (ii) maintain updated online platform regarding the allocation of amounts received and donated to social organizations; and (iii) report any irregularity observed to competent authorities.
Alana Institute:
As maintainer of the Satisfeito, has the right to prevent the use of their marks inadvertently by any Satisfeito participants. Must: (i) receive the money received from Satisfeito consumers through donations from restaurants in aspecific current account; (ii) fully allocate the money received from donations by the consumers through the restaurants at participating social organizations; (iii) publicly inform the data details about donations received and transferred; and (iv) report reasonable notice any changes in their participation in the Satisfeito.
