CVS OF THE MEMBERS

PERROS NEGROS is a production office of artistic projects in small, médium and big scale, carried out from a research of possibilities and collaborations between different agents; not necessarily related to each other; it is a platform that gathers the effort of artist and promoters as well as institutions, brands and foundations. Being its main aim the stimulation of the contemporary creation. Perros Negros concentrates its efforts on binding (linking) the local with the global production and viceversa; giving a new meaning to certain cultural values.

PROJECTS

Localismos

México DF 2004

As a first project was carried out Localismos, a program of residencies for artists that consisted on one month of work for the production of specific site Works in the Centro Histórico. As a result, it was pressented an exposición divided in several places of downtown during 2 months, along with conferences and live events, Works from 30 artists, mexican and foreigns were showed as a part of the proyect

Currently, the catalogue of this exhibitions is in edition with A+R press.

Pazmaker

For the 2006 Perros Negros started the publication Pazmaker, a printed space produced in México following the model of Pacemaker publication by Toasting Agency, office of artistic production in Paris. This edition is not indeed a textual copy, nevertheless it adopts the same spirit and format of the original one. Pazmaker is adapted to a different geographic context, in where we hope to create a new circle of readers and collaborators. Imitating the model of the original publication, Pazmaker is contemplated as an international publication, which distribution and contents creation is done in different places, reason why it presents texts in Spanish and in English extendig its reach.

Nothing Really Matters

Co-production LOS SUPER ELEGANTES & PERROS NEGROS

From the beginning Los Super Elegantes, have been characterized by their versatility in their role play that includes Pop Stars, Playwrights, Models, Actors and Film directors, always setting between all these fields. Making their starting point, the music; it immediately inserts them on the systems of distribution and on different access to contemporary Art (Artist, Curator, Collector vs. Musicians, Videos, discs, concerts) sometimes this has made difficult to accomplish certain projects.

In a joint effort between Perros Negros and Los Super Elegantes and trying to make this difficulties an advantage, it has been formulated and scheme in which 7 partners, collectors, producers or fans, can acquire a copy of the photograph with 5 + 2 a.p edition; the sameone that will be used on the cover of the second album; so the second record material NOTHING REALLY MATTERS can be produced.

Galeria Sentimental

La Galería Sentimental, is a project that will take place within La Galería Comercial during a year. In this gallery there will be shown Works that have becomed attached neither to any of the market dynamics nor the conventional party line of the contemporary art. They are exhibited without any justification and their importance will be grant for the simple fact of existing

Rhiannon / King Kong is the first exhibition of six that will take place in La Galeria Sentimental, where the artistic work of the mexican Xavier de María y Campos will be show.

Song Show

The Song Show is a random selection of music made by artists that don’t have nothing in common except for the fact that they make music and that their music is edited, distributed and commercialized without following the usual dynamics, marketing and promotion proceses that a typical band or musician goes trhough in the music industry.

Otra de Vaqueros

México DF, 2007

As it was with Localismos 2003, this curatorial production, looked for generating an exhibition in an unique context, from a workshop program / recidency, working with the local energy and the participation of the artist from different investigation fields, approaches and análisis.

A group of mexican and foreign artist whose practices and Works had not been shown in our country, was selected through investigation sessions and discussions between Perros Negros and Toasting Agency, French curatorial agency in charge of Eva Svennung and Alexis Veillant with which we carried out this project.

On parallel, a foreign series of experiments and curatorial projects, reactivated for the mexican public, will appear during this event, as satellites and referential extensions of the main project (workshop/residency/exhibition)
