TITLE: STATE OFFICE ADMINISTRATIVE VOLUNTEER

Position Function
The State Office Administrative Volunteerserves in the AARP Virginia State Office and assists with the daily administrative work of the Association at the state level.
Responsibilities
- Processing volunteer reimbursement requests for payment in the Volunteer as needed
- Entering AARP Virginia event engagement reports into the Cvent event management system as needed
- Maintaining the Resource Tracking System – data entry, organizing work and resource rooms, tracking inventory of publications/resources and ordering more as needed
- Shipping publications and resources as required
- Special projects or assignments as required
- Ordering materials from Fulfillment as requested
- Assisting with updating of various web-based event calendars, checking for accuracy as needed
- Updating or creating event fliers as needed
- Creating Excel spreadsheets as requested
Qualifications
- Commitment to the goals and priorities of AARP
- Availability to work in the state office 9:00 am – 3:00 pm one day a week or more based on need and availability
- Ability to work well in an office environment
- Ability to process dataaccurately and efficiently
- Proficiency in Excel, comfortability working with computers, ability to learn new systems
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail
Term of Service and Length of Service
One (1)year term with option by supervisor for renewal.
Training Required
- Orientation to AARP
- Other skills trainings and issue briefings as necessary

No travel is required for this position

Progress Review
The performance of the State Office Administrative Volunteer will be monitored on an ongoing basis. As appropriate, the State Office Administrative Volunteerand his/her supervisor and staff will develop a work plan that will serve as the basis for the volunteer progress review.
Available Resources
Expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with AARP policy.
