Explanatory notes

Definitions

Enterprise means an organisation where assessment is taking place, and/or where the trainee is employed.

Enterprise procedures refer to the documented procedures used by the organisation carrying out the work and applicable to the tasks being carried out. They may include but are not limited to – standard operating procedures, site safety procedures, equipment operating procedures, codes of practice, quality assurance procedures, housekeeping standards, charging of time and materials, management of drawings and documentation, procedures to comply with legislative and local body requirements.

Evidence requirements

1.1The sequence of the glass forming process is describedin accordance with enterprise procedures.

Rangeprocess– glass conditioning, gob forming, gob loadinginto blank side, container forming, ware handling, hot end treatment, Lehr loading.

1.2The purpose of the forehearth is described, and its components are identifiedin accordance with enterprise procedures.

1.3The purpose of the gob forming equipment is described, and its components identified.

1.4The purpose of an independent section (IS) machine is described, and its components identified.

1.5The purpose of the ware handling equipment is described, and its components identifiedin accordance with enterprise procedures.

1.6The purposes of the product information systems are described, and the sources and relevance of information displayed, explainedin accordance with enterprise procedures.
